The food was late, not as described on the online menu and barely edible.

I have been ordering from Florencia's for about 10 yrs. the food is good on those hangover days when you just want delivery or for late nights. I have to say though that their recent upped prices is NOT reflective of any improvement in the food. $7 bucks for a small cup of soup? $15 for mediocre pasta? I don't think so. I'll take my business to one of the other places with free delivery, lower prices and better quality food. They're trippin'!

BEST CHEESE BREAD EVER! Everything we ordered was amazing! The baby clam lingunie was a good! the white wine sauce was not over powering like some white wine sauces that I've tried. The shrimp scampi has a good lemon butter sauce, more on the lemony side but still delicious! The eggplant parm had a lot of flavor to it as well! Will definitley be coming back to this place!

This was the only place with late delivery near my hotel. After reading the reviews, I was pretty sure I knew what I was getting into as far as quality and service, and it was about what I expected. The chicken parmesan was decent for 2am, the garlic bread was oily and inedible, and they forgot to include any dressing with my side salad (which was really just a bunch of iceberg lettuce, a sad-looking tomato wedge, 3 slivers of onion, and a pepperoncini. I ate the pepperoncini; it was all right.) They remembered my water bottle and actually delivered 10 minutes earlier than they estimated, which was nice because it was already so late. Not great, but I was hungry, and now I'm not hungry. So there's that.

Sooo if I own this restaurant then I would close it the food is ok, the delivery guy was very nice but they literally forgot two of my four orders of food for pick up(I was at the store for this pick up and ordered in person). Apparently I am too stupid to inspect every object I order but regardless, the service was rude and laughed at us. After I called and told them they forgot two of four things they laughed at me and said what do you want me to do about it? You can pick it up if you want too. Then after 10 minutes of being ok hold they agreed to deliver it but it will take 45-60 mins to deliver.(I live literally two blocks away also) I made them deliver it but I returned the one of two things because it looked like a disaster and I was afraid someone spit on it. After I talked to my many friends about it they said don't worry about it it's just a front.....well good luck everyone, food was decent certainly not bad for late night but yeah if you what to play a game of hygiene roulette well this is your place

Visiting from out of town staying at hotel and ordered delivery of the "family good deal" (lg pizza lg spaghetti lg lasagne and garlic bread all for $35. It arrived on time, hot and delicious. We ordered the lasagne with spinach (vegetarian) and it tasted freshly made! The garlic bread was huge. Everything was great I would definitely eat here again.

Horrible! Poor quality and quantity. We ordered 8 poppers but got 4 and no ranch dip. We Paid $1.75 each for extra toppings that weren't on the pizza. The cook said he added them his self but they aren't there. The crust was very thin but we asked for thick. They said that is their version of thick. No jalapenos on the sandwiches, no plates, forks, napkins, parmesan cheese. And if you're not going to bring utensils could you at least cut the pizza so we can eat it?????? Bad experience!

Just ordered take out. The chicken piccata isn't a chicken entree like you'd think. Rather, its a fettuccini Alfredo pasta dish with pieces of dry grilled chicken and diced mushrooms tossed in it. Can't even taste the lemon. If I was at the restaurant, I'd return this. Yuck.

To whom it may concern- I want to begin by saying that I am not an unpleasant person. I have worked retail/restaurants on and off for ten years, and I fully understand how hectic, demanding, and exhausting the job can be. I don't complain every time I have a poor experience, however I can't keep quiet about what happened on the evening of Saturday April 12th. I was in San Diego for school- I live 5 hours away on Vandenberg Air Force Base. Since I'm not from the area and I was there by myself, I stayed in my motel room after dark. Sitting next to my bed was an advertisement for your restaurant, and the flyer boasted "free delivery" so I decided to take advantage. At about 7:30 pm I called to have dinner delivered to my room at the Motel 6 room number 407. I ordered chicken parmigiana over spaghetti and minestrone soup, with a can of Coca Cola. The gentleman on the phone said it would be at my door in 45 minutes. At 8:39 pm my dinner arrived. Despite his truancy, I gave the driver a $5 tip because I understand how Saturday nights can be in the restaurant business. I sat down, got ready to eat, and realized I had no utensils. I called the motel's front desk and they didn't have any so I called the restaurant back and explained to them that I did not receive a fork and would be requiring one in order to eat my food. The man sounded very annoyed that I was bothering him with such trivial things, but told me that my fork will be there in about 10 minutes. I hung up the phone and realized 2 more errors with my order- they forgot my soup, and not only was the can of Coca Cola warm, the bottom was bubbled out so severely that I couldn't even stand it upright. I called back and asked if the driver could bring my soup and a new can of (cold) soda as well. And I waited. And I waited some more. At this point it was 9:41 pm, I was starving, and my food was cold. I resorted to eating the chicken and spaghetti with my HANDS because I was so hungry. I got fed up with the customer service (or lack thereof) so I called and asked for a full refund. They informed me that since I got my money back, that closed the deal and I would not be receiving my soup, soda, or fork. Keep in mind that every time I called I was nothing but polite. I did not use an unkind tone with them, I said please and thank you, and I was MORE than patient. I am not sure how your employees were raised, but in my house, we give you the proper utensils with meals. If we should forget to give you something, we don't just ignore you. I ate spaghetti with my hands on Saturday night because your employees were too incompetent and/or lazy to perform the simple task of bringing me a fork, a bowl of soup, and a can of soda that should have been there in the first delivery. I hope some sort of disciplinary action is taken because you can't treat people like that and expect to have a successful restaurant. For what it's worth, the food was very good and I think if I had better customer service I would have enjoyed my meal and I would have considered returning to your restaurant during another trip to San Diego. If 0 stars were an option on Yelp, that's what I would have chosen.

Great for late night food. Inexpensive and tasty pizza by the slice. Service has been good every time I've been there. Would recommend to anyone in the area drinking.

A very convenient place if you live in NP, but not the kinda place I'd ever go to/order from if I didn't. Just so that you're forewarned: Pros: - Open late - Good location - Food there is always edible. Cons: - Typically pretty terrible service (i.e. those untrained/weird/non-customer-service-aware style waitstaff you run into in many places in CA) if you dine in. - 20% chance of some kind of mistake on phone-in/online orders. - Chronic slowness.. more often than not, takes 30+ minutes to get your food. - Meals cost as much as the *nicer* places in NP.

I ordered a medium pepperoni pizza that took an hour to get to my house, where I live less than a mile away from the restaurant that cost me 18$ for the pizza and just gave the driver the change, so 20$ total. They had no specials what so ever for this pizza joint and didn't tell me it would take an hour to drive less than a mile to receive a soggy, super greasy, cold pizza with no peppers, cheeze , or napkins. I will never go back here again! Top five worst pizza joints in San Diego!

I had a great fist experience here. As you walk in, it definitely feels Italian, which is what i expect from a family restaurant. The service was friendly and our waiter was very attentive. I ordered the Pizza Sub with Pepperoni ($7.99). There was a nice, soft Italian bread toasted with cheese, marinara sauce and pepperoni throughout. Each bite included a taste of all the ingredients and I knew i made the right choice. It was a pretty light sandwich, so I appreciated that a lot. I actually made it into two meals, which I also liked. I'm not sure what my friends got, but they seemed happy too. I was too engulfed in my own meal to pay much attention to theirs. For a nice Italian restaurant with good food and service, give this place a try.

They took over an hour and a half for a pizza and were totally dismissive and rude. Won't be going back. The delivery driver showed up with who I imagine was his girlfriend in the car. Come on. The pizza was cold, this was totally lame. This place is literally a five minute drive from my house. I should have just drive over and picked it up. Worst part was I ordered online and tipped (generously) in advance. I'll never do that again. I've eaten here before and the food is okay, but it's the only delivery joint open late night. I guess they feel they don't have to try anymore. Florencias is definitely hit or miss, so buyer beware. Now I strictly go to Luigi's on El Cajon, buy far thee best pizza in SD.

The fact that it was completely empty on a Saturday evening at 8pm should have been a warning. But did we heed this warning? Nope. Do I regret it? Yep. Got a small pizza and it was just bleh. And there was a huge oil slick underneath it. Plus the other dish, some pasta thing, was just a mess of cream and cheese. The garlic bread was good, but come on, you can't mess up garlic bread. Maybe it's fine for delivery, but I just cannot imagine ever eating here again.

I've ordered delivery from Florencia's for many years and eaten in a couple of time. Specials are good, pizza is good, prices are good, pesto bread sticks are EPIC!

I stopped in here for the pizza slices. Lady at the counter was very friendly. Pizza was ok. Slices were of a good size. They have thick crust which personally I am not a fan of. Pizza was a step up from decent. I liked it but I would not go out of my way to eat here.

I've eaten here quite a few times, and they've been ok. Tonight, I ordered pizza for delivery. Their average delivery time is approx. 30-45 minutes. It took an hour and 10-minutes. One of my biggest pet peeves is buying and paying for extra cheese but NOT getting it! There was barely average cheese. Disappointed. Pizza was room temp. :/

its hard to find an Italian restaurant that makes good pasta AND pizza. this one is it. everything is fresh and has lots of flavor. oh, and the staff is also super friendly!

Considering they got my order wrong, I still thought it tasted amazing. I ordered a shrimp pesto calzone but got the pasta instead. My son didn't get the garlic bread that was supposed to come with his entree. On top of that, they forgot utensils!! You may say that they thought they were delivering to my house but the address I gave is on Hotel Circle....ummm no houses here. So here I am at my hotel room eating pasta with my fingers. I know I'm Asian but dang....never ate pasta like this before! That's the reason why I only gave 4 stars. The food was so much better than I thought it would be.

I hate to bash but get it together. I will admit the decor is nice. staff is very friendly and hospitable but let's get down to the brass tax, the pizza sucks. The crust tastes like old DiGiorno that you ate on a Wednesday night and your roomate made Monday night. The crust is disgusting cardboard. The sauce might taste better on a burger because it would make a better ketchup than pizza sauce. People give bad reviews all of the time but I have tried many different pizza places in San Diego such as Bronx Pizza, Isola, Luigi's, Lefty's(deep dish), and Landinis. All these places know how to make descent pizza but this place is gross, yuck!

$14 special: Large 2 topping pizza that feeds 2. AND they deliver beer and wine.. they didn't have Heineken but they DID have PERONI - AN ITALIAN BEER. Wow. Yeah the pizza was awesome. Not too cheesy. Not too thin. Not excessively oily. Just PERFECT. I normally don't write reviews, but when I do, I prefer to be buzzed in my motel room sippin on Italian burr and munching on Pizza from Florencia's!

Visiting family down in San diego tonight and needed a great pizza place to try but we found this place bcus of their 20.99 special on the giant pizza w 3 toppings 2 liter soda and mozzarella. Ordering was easy breezy, however when we arrived to pick up the order they were not so pleasant. I guess we had an old advertising from their restaurant, the guy immediately says let me see this no no this isnt ours then looks at it closer and says ohhh its an old one, here is the new one. I didnt care less about it being old or new, your still running the deal and thank goodness someone still had the advertisement or we wouldnt be buying pizza from you because your Yelp score would not have placed you on my list to try. When we ordered the pizza special its for 3 toppings so I asked to double the pepperoni and the last topping would be pineapple. Well the double pepperoni didnt make it on the pizza. All in all we got our order minus the mozzarella and left as fast as we could before we changed our mind based on the rudeness of the guy that brought the pizza out to us. The pizza is good and the sauce is very tasty. Its by far the closest thing I can get to a slice of pie from DC or Rhode Island. I would have given them a better score but the young guy who rang us up and brought the pizza out but he didnt seem to found of us. I shouldve Yelp them b4 going as I usually do all places. I would return for the pizza only if the attitude changes otherwise I can def find other pizza spots to spend my weekend cash. However, for now they get 3 stars bcus im trying to be nice for the quality of the pizza.

North Park's best spot. Affordable and quality food is always served at Florencia's. I especially like their pizzas although they do offer a variety of great Italian sandwiches. I would high recommend if you are in he area or call for take out/ delivery.

If you're looking for late-night Italian food or pizza, Florencia's is one of your best options in San Diego. The pizza, like the Italian food in general, is good, not great, the service is friendly and helpful, there's rarely a wait to be seated, and the parking situation is usually tolerable and often fine. But what I go to Florencia's for is the torpedo sandwich -- "Torpedo - The Works with Oil and Vinegar" -- which I feel is one of the very best sandwiches around. Make sure you get it toasted and don't add or delete any of the default components; especially, DO NOT have them add mustard. It's perfect just the way they make it. I've had Florencia's torpedo many times and it was always prepared perfectly; everyone I've been with who's tried it has liked it and, in most cases, loved it. The sandwich is soft yet crunchy, plenty enough for one person, and incredibly satisfying. If you've ever had a "grinder" sandwich in Massachusetts or Rhode Island, well, that's exactly what this thing is. Highly recommended, reasonably priced (about nine bucks, but big), the best thing on the menu by far -- though admittedly I haven't tried everything so I could be wrong. If you do get the pizza you'll probably like it, unless you don't like a thinner crust. I'd say it's much better than the pizza at Etna, the other late-night pizza joint in the mid-city area, but for pizza earlier in the day there are better choices.

It seems like my review will be no surprise. We ordered a pizza an hour and a half ago and has yet to arrive, how pathetic, right? Just when you think it can't get worst, my boyfriend is on the phone with the guy asking where he is and they got the WRONG ADDRESS. Actually, he had the right address but wasn't at the right place, how does that happen?! This is clearly their fault yet they refused to accommodate us at all, and on top of that, they guy told my boyfriend to have a good night and hung up on him! A service that refuses to compromise with their customers is a place I will never ever give my business to. I'm so glad that we didn't get their food delivered to us anyway because reading these reviews it seems like this place has low quality food with an unnecessary price tag. I'm so upset with the service we received and their unprofessionalism. Never ever again will we ever give this place another try!

Ordered one medium pepperoni pizza that took over an hour and a half to have delivered. I understand that you can get busy but to have it take so long is ridiculous.

I've been ordering delivery from here for at least 4 years, and have only eaten in the restaurant once, which was weird because it was like midnight and there was only one other group in the restaurant and they were super loud and annoying, and the staff seemed pretty grumpy (and understandably so). So that experience isn't exactly representative. But their delivery is always pretty good. And consistent. It usually takes about an hour... occasionally less than that. But as long as you anticipate that, it's no big deal. and pretty standard for restaurants around here that deliver. The seafood pastas are actually pretty good... the others, I've found to be bland. The veal parmigiana sandwich is REALLY good. Tender meat, perfect balance with the sauce and cheese, yummy bread that holds up to the sauce. The eggplant and chicken parm sandwiches are good too. I've only had their pizza twice. The first time, I wasn't impressed. But last night, we randomly ordered the BBQ chicken pizza and it was different, but really good. It had only a little amount of BBQ sauce, which was just perfect, actually, and the chopped mushrooms that are included was actually a really nice complement to those flavors. Best of all, it had a light, in-between-crisp-and-chewy, perfectly cooked crust. I was surprisingly impressed.

I literally just got done eating this. I ordered the Chicken Marsala and had it delivered to my hotel. Delivery is great, but the food...... eh. The Chicken Marsala was nothing like I expected. They took spaghetti, covered in alfredo, added a splash of wine, and threw on chicken and mushrooms. No. That is NOT Chicken Marsala. I had a side salad with italian dressing and the dressing was too tart I couldn't eat it. I literally just threw that entire meal in the trash and I am so upset as I paid nearly $15 for it. My husband got their meatball sandwich, and it was tasty. So it must be hit or miss. Will not eat here again.

Our delivery showed up right on time and the driver was very pleasant. Our pizza was still hot and it was an ok pizza. We didn't like the wings because we like them crispier but they weren't bad. Garlic cheese bread was pretty tasty. Salad was better than expected with leaf lettuce instead of head lettuce and 5 ranches!

Don't be fooled by the signage or listing. Florencia's is far more than just pizza! What a wonderful find when wife and I took my 93 year old father out for a good Italian meal...and got it. This University Avenue location has been around since the early 90s, has a great menu, super reasonable prices and generous operating hours. And did I mention that the food is authentic and yummy? It is. The décor is simple and comfortable. Nothing fancy and does remind me of restaurants in Italy. We looked at their dinner menu and it had a full offering of Italian favorites along with some of Florencia's specials. And there are usually a ton of them and all great deals. Prices were, of course, higher for dinners, but still in the reasonable range. What floored me were the specials: a two item dinner for two for $19.99, lunches (which we ate) with garlic bread for $5.50, "jumbo" family deals including a 16" pizza, large spaghetti, large lasagna, large salad (picking up the trend here?), garlic bread and two liters of soda for $25.99. My wife and I regularly pay that for lunches, but those lunches won't feed four or more people. Message here is to check out their specials and advertisements. Great service, clean dining area and rest rooms, excellent food and light on your budget. They also have a full bar.

I ordered here, for delivery, maybe a year ago. Was told 45 minutes, after an hour and a half, called to check. Was told driver was on the way. 45 minutes later, called, driver was just leaving. Another 30, driver got into a car accident. Fast forward to today. Against my better judgment, decided to give it another go. After an hour and 45 minutes wait, I called the restaurant. Driver got into a car accident! How convenient for them. Said they would remake my food and deliver it in another hour. Even if it just happens to be a coincidence that the driver got into an accident again(which I'm not buying), why was there no attempt to let me know or remake it when it happened?

The staff was inattentive, and the food came to us cold... and we were 1 of 2 tables at the time with 4 staff on hand. They got the order wrong twice. For the only dish that came to us properly prepared, was OK in taste.

I found myself at Florencia's for a very late lunch. I was starving so I started with bruschetta. It was barely toasted and in my opinion had too much basil. Then I had salad that was served with the entree. It was pretty good with the house Italian dressing. The baked zitti was rather bland. It was a nice size portion but the marinara was blah and it really could have used some italian sausage and much more cheese. The service was friendly and attentive, but then again there was only one other occupied table.

OMG their lasagna. We ordered to our hotel room last night and although the chicken parmigiana and garlic bread were also very good, the lasagna was some of the tastiest I've ever eaten. They have some great specials and we will definitely order again when we're in town. They delivered pretty quickly, too.

This is North Parks open late pizza spot. The place is one of the few resturants in the area that seems to always be open. Last year we came here on 4th of July because North Park seemed like a ghost town with nothing open. So convience is a plus with this place. They also deliever. The pizza is pretty good. They have a lot of other options on the menu and were ok at best. The alcohol selection is pretty weak. This is a place I go on late nights.

  • Alicia B.

I don't understand why this place doesn't get higher reviews on yelp, it's awesome. The best part is they deliver late! Nothing like quality seafood pasta and a calzone at 11:30 pm! Haha but seriously the delivery is so convenient, but it usually takes about an hour. If you want super fast pizza go somewhere else, but if you can wait do it. Their pasta is delicious and the calzones are huge. They have a large menu to choose from. Definitely my go to for delivery.

Still Love this place! Though every once and while we get some poor service. We have waited over an hour and half for pizza that came cold. I called them up and they were all apologetic. I spoke with Mike the owner, and he told me my next order was on the house. He said he likes to take care of the folks in North Park and he was so sorry about the service we received. I believed him. I called 3 weeks later, he remembered me and through in some bread sticks on our order. Everyone screws up now and then, at least they have the balls to fess up to it and make it better. Love this place!

Love that they are open late, service is good. Of course Italian so its all carbs. Pizza is not my favorite for sure, baked ziti is nice to have after drinking. A ok glad to have them in my stomping grounds

  • Tanya T.

I love that this place is convenient and that they deliver. Their salads are okay, and the pizza by the slice is good (get it by the pie and the crust is soggy). With that being said, I think this place could be 3+ stars if they actually cared and improved a few things. The last two times I was there, the drink machine was out of ice. It was also out of two kinds of soda. When we informed them, there was no sense of urgency to change the soda. They were like, "Oh, it's just the coke is out." My friend informed them that another was out too, so they mumbled and reluctantly changed it. I hate places that are inconsistent or that don't give you you're supposed to get with your meal. To my understanding, bread comes with a large salad. Once it has. Twice it hasn't. I ordered two meals with a salad to go and a large salad. The meals were supposed to come with two small side salads and bread. They put both the small salads in one box. They did not include ANY dressing or bread with my large Greek salad. They only put one fork in the whole bag when three meals were ordered. THE CHICKEN PICCATA sucks. The online ordering system quoted 10-20 minutes. It took well over 40 minutes. No one said "Sorry for the wait." The Greek salad DOES NOT have authentic kalamata olives on it. It has cheap salty black olives on it instead. Nice try. When I've gotten got pizza, I was put-off by the fact that they put the parmesan/red pepper packets inside the box on top of the melted cheese on the pizza. I'm not a germ-a-phobe, but why would you do that? Those packets were laying around and handled without gloves, and now here they are sinking into my melted cheese... I think they do so many takeout orders, they just don't care about the quality of service... I think they must be cheap too, boxing two separate salads together and giving us only 1 fork with 3 meals.

I originally voted this restaurant a 1 star, but after being contacted by the owner, Michael, and being treated with excellent service, I would love to give Florencia's 5 stars. We came in here tonight under the notion that we would get a free pizza to compensate for the poor service we got last time, and left with that and more. I could really tell that all the employees and the owner want their customers to be satisfied--someone who doesn't wouldn't have gone above and beyond to contact an unsatisfied local. The Margherita pizza was TO DIE FOR. I guess you can't judge a pizza off of their plain pepperoni slice. Garlicy, cheesy, flavorful goodness. Boyfriend wasn't too impressed by the crust but he's an east coaster! I liked it :) I told him he could write his own review. We also only had to wait about 15-20 mins for a whole delicious pizza, not 25 mins for two slices. UPGRADE. What really sealed the deal for me was the server we had. He apologized twice for the service he gave us last time and even remembered where we sat and the situation we had! The fact that he remembered a one-time customer and the service he provided proved that this place really does want to extend excellent customer service. Really enjoy the ambiance of the restaurant, and the wine hanging from the walls! Feels authentic and Italian :) I will definitely be coming back here. P.s. the pinot noir they serve tastes scrumptious with the pizza!

Short story- bad service, pizza taste like the microwave stuff. Long story- We arrived Sunday when it was almost midnight ON OUR BIKES (this is relevant). I was surprised to see that this place actually had customers since I live 2 blocks away and always give my boyfriend the sad face as we walk by for how pathetic this place looks- it is consistently COMPLETELY void of patrons. However, it didn't take me long to realize that the two men eating outside were either the owner or manager. I walked in, ordered our slices and we sat outside. To jump to the conclusion or a second, we waited 15 long, bizarre minutes for 2 slices of cheese pizza, which as it cooled we both came to our own conclusions SEPARATELY that it tasted like a pizza you can buy in the freezer section of the super market, you know, the kind with the stark white cheese and the bits of "meat stuff" that we grew up on. Considering the fact that we came in for slices and that we were the only ones there wait time is ridiculous. If these guys were standing around, waiting for someone other than the owner himself to get hungry, would it be so much to ask that they acknowledge that we rolled up on bikes? I say this because when we finally got our pizza, they had put it in a box. I don't care if you've seen people riding around with their dinner in one hand and a handle bar in the other, it wouldn't have killed anyone to see if we were going to dine in after they clearly saw us looking back into the restaurant with puzzled looks. With NOTHING else to do but wait for people to serve, and arm wrestle each other, you would expect better. I want to clarify that we go out for slices often. We almost never expect anything but to get the slices we ordered and to be left alone to stuff our faces. I say this because I would hate for someone to read this and think I have high standards. That's not the case at all. These guys had to heat up two slices of pizza and feed us. At first, I avoided this place because it was empty. Then I avoided it because the reviews clearly showed the inconsistency of this place. And now, I avoid it because these guys are lazy and don't know how to cook.

I have been a couple times but my last experience was pretty bad. First I ordered seafood linguine in arabiatta sauce and i was told that they cant do or make it so i ordered a different type of pasta. I ordered a linguine in arabiatta sauce with scallops and i was told again they are out of scallops. So i added shrimp instead. Second, When we got our garlic toast bread at our table it was burnt to a point. The edges or corners were charred. Third, We found a cockroach crawling down the window onto our table. I ended up killing it and wrapping it in my napkin to go and show it to the waiter. The waiter said it probably came from outside. I even have a picture to prove it. This caused me to lose my appetite. About 5 minutes later we paid and left.

Worst service ever, we have been ordering delivery from here for a while. Tonight they screwed up the order not once but twice and they offered to send us the missing ingredients on our pizza, are you kidding me?!?! Oh yeah and then the second pizza was wrong again!!! This was after we confirmed what we had ordered!!!

Florencia's is on point. This operation is wonderful and even does take out until 3 AM. Definitely a solid go to spot. Sam deserves a raise and provided exceptional service. He responded to cues and anticipated our needs. Not to mention, he provided dessert for us. Great spot and WILL be returning.

Food was good, a bit salty. But overall fairly priced. Delivery was here in about 40 min and grub hbu quoted an hour so that was nice. I'd order again.

Absolutely disgusting. Ordered delivery from them a few nights ago since they were one of the only place still open. Other reviews seemed promising so I though I would give it a shot. After the food was delivered (almost an hour and a half later), I was disappointed to see that they left out a soup that I had ordered. Everything smelled good, so I figured it was no big deal. I ordered chicken fingers, chick Alfredo, and chicken piccata with two minestrone soups as my sides for my boyfriend and I. Before we opened our entrees, we shared the one soup they gave us. It was flavorful at first, until we found a wad of long black hairs (not just one single hair) at the bottom of the styrofoam bowl. The garlic bread everyone else seemed to rave about was stale and drowned in butter. Since we couldn't eat the soup, we started on our entrees. The chicken fingers were good-crispy chunks of white meat-so the rest seemed promising. However, when we opened up the two other chicken dishes, there was maybe 3oz of what looked like frozen-then boiled-and reheated chicken tossed with store bought alfredo sauce for his, and with canned mushrooms and capers for mine. Both dishes had absolutely no flavor, the chicken was tough and dry, and the pasta inside each dish looked like it had been double cooked in nothing but butter. Took two bites and could not finish. If I had the chance to call and ask for a refund I would, however they closed after the delivery. In short: atrocious quality, zero flavor, horrible service Good news: portions are good sized Bad news: you paid to eat garbage

UPDATE: SInce my review Mikel the owner of Florencias has contacted me after seeing my review on Yelp. He asked me to call him on his cell to discuss the mishap. After retelling my experience Mikel apologized and was sincerely concerned about trying make right the wrong. He spent the better half of the day searching for our credit card receipt and phoning both myself and my friend. Mikel refunded our entire meal and extended a personal dinner invite to us. I was surprised to discover how much Mikel cared about my experience and the length's that he was willing to go in order to please ONE customer! Thanks for all of your help Mikel, and I will be stopping in soon! *************************************************************************************** A friend and I decided to enjoy a low key evening in and ordered delivery from Florencias. Florencias delivers both food and wine so it was a win, win for us. We called, placed our order, a bottle of wine ($21.00), fettucine ala vodka ($12.99) and one of the half dinners, veggie lasagna and spinach ravioli ($12.99). The expected delivery time was 45 minutes to an hour. After an hour and a half wait we called to find out if there was a problem with our order. We were then told that our food should have already been delivered and were then placed on hold. A few minutes later there was a knock on the door. The food had arrived! We sat down to eat and as we opened the bag noticed that marinara sauce had spilled everywhere in the bag! It was a mess. After cleaning up and figuring out what was what we were ready to start eating. Upon opening the meals they too were even a disaster. The fettucini ala vodka was just fettucine and alfredo sauce! That order was wrong! Then when we opened the half & half dinner it was just a bowl of marinara sauce with the veggie lasagna and spinach ravioli mashed together in one disgusting red blob. The bread was cold and soggy and we had soup but after the mess of the other dishes we threw it out too! What a waste, $50.00 of food just to be thrown out. We ended up getting dressed and heading out to grab a bite to eat at another restaurant. I was surprised that we had a bad experience since most of the other reviews are so positive. Lesson learned, don't have them deliver. That way if there are any problems they can be addressed right away.

At first, none of the employees seemed to notice we had walked in because thy were all in the kitchen, but once we were greeted and seated, the server was attentive. We got a Greek salad and baked ziti. Garlic bread was brought to our table while we waited. Interestingly for an Italian restaurant, the baked ziti was subpar. The Greek salad was good, but we wouldn't order the ziti again. The tomato sauce was watery, and the cheese was extremely bland. The $5.50 lunch special is a good deal, though. I'd much rather be disappointed in the ziti this way rather than full price. If we return, we will try another pasta or Italian dish and hope for better.

After my friend sent me pictures of her artichoke heart pizza (my favorite) from Florencia's last week, I've been craving it. Today was a lazy day, so I went online to look at their menu and saw that it allowed you to order online (awesome) and that's just what I did. They even had a coupon link on their website and I used one of them to get a Large 2 topping pizza for $15. The order/delivery took about 40 minutes (the email confirmation estimated 45-60 minutes). Once I got in my house and washed my hands, it smelled like chinese food and a donut shop (weird). I snapped a quick photo and dug in. There was something sweet about the pizza that I did not like and the cheese was...just weird. Shortly after I had finished about half the pizza, I started feeling ill, vomit ill. I'm not sure if I overate or if it was the food. I don't know if I'd be up to try Florencia's again. BUT I really appreciate and loved that everything was so easy to do online!

THESE PEOPLE HAVE TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!! I ordered off a website to have my food delivered tonight. They work with many websites to deliver since they don't deliver themselves. I have my receipt that shows EXACTLY what we ordered! They delivered everything and it was completely wrong! I called back to let them know and the manager came on the line and told me that it wasn't their problem since they got the menu wrong! Completely ridiculous! I spent almost $40 and they messed it all up! It's happened numerous times with them. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM!!!!

I ordered from here via 'Grub Hub' which is a delivery service mobile App. The order process was simple but I always call the store just to make sure I get a verbal confirmation from a real person instead of trusting the app. I called in 3 minutes after ordering through the App and asked to confirm they received the order, which they did and also to give me a fair estimate of when I can expect my order. They told me 'It should be to you in about 45 minutes.' Granted, 'about 45' minutes can mean anything, but in my mind, I think when hearing that... 'OK that sounds like 40-55 minutes probably. Anyway, I waited until 1 hour had passed and called in and they said o he should be there any minute. I waited another 15 minutes (now 30 minutes over the expected 45 minute delivery time) and they put me on hold and didn't come back to the line for 4 minutes. I hung up and called back again and I asked where's the food at? It's now over 35 minutes past the time you guys told me it would be. They again put me on hold and I hear them talking in the background but not coming to the phone. Another 3 minutes+ passed while I was on the phone and then I got the knock from the delivery guy so hung up. Problem: If you're going to issue a delivery time, please stick with it. Customer Service is crucial to repeat business and happy customers. Deliver on your word. Don't just generically quote 45 minutes and come 1 hour and 25 minutes later! That pisses me off so much! The Positive: The buffalo wings were pretty good and the sandwich I ordered was not bad at all. For the price, it was well worth it. However, I don't know if I'd order again because of the uncertainty of follow-through from them.

Pizza is good, spaghetti with meatballs... not so much. They're definitely good for late night food after hitting up the bars. I did enjoy my friend's baked raviolis though. I guess it's a hit or miss with certain items there. I'll come back just for the fact that they're open late but would rather get take out. My first experience was just a pizza for take out so that was pretty simple. Second experience we actually sat down and the server pretty much took our order and that was about it. He neglected us the whole time, I even had to get his attention to get the check and a box. When he came, we asked for more water and he didn't even refill it at all.

Granted I can only review the pizza..it is always great! Esp late at night ..delivery does take up to 1 hour esp late at night due to the fact they are one of the only pizza places open for delivery until 2 am lol Love the quality & love the price Leaving the bar? Wanna order some pizza? give them a call :)

TERRIBLE SERVICE, TERRIBLE FOOD. Arrived at 11 pm on a Saturday with friends. The restaurant was filled with dirty tables. They forgot our pizza and didn't get our order right after we told them. They didn't even have cups for water out. In a nutshell, save your money and go across the street to the Mediterranean restaurant.

The first time I ordered from Florencia's I was disappointed due to the loooong delivery time. The second time I picked up the ordered I picked it up an hour late and it was piping hot and ready! I was very satisfied with the order:) And the owner/manager was GREAT. THE TARIMISU is AMAZING as well!!

We had a pizza and garlic bread delivered to our hotel around 230 AM NYE. As you might imagine, we were drunk....and the pizza was gross. Greasy, not very flavorful, less than fresh ingredients and really dry crust. If you are starving, and drunk and you think the pizza is nasty, you know it's pretty bad. My husband and I usually eat a whole 16" to ourselves when we're in that state of mind and we had 1.5 slices each before pawning it off to our friends. The garlic bread was ashy looking and dry. I'd recommend a frozen pizza over getting something from here. They get one extra star for being open and delivering so late.

Order from this place for delivery, so we ordered two pasta dishes and salad for $40+. It took over 1.5 hours to get the food after calling twice to see what was the hold up, I was told my food was on it's way it would be there in 5 min... after 20 min it finally arrived. I had the half and half (penne pasta and cheese ravioli) pasta and it was soooo salty I couldn't even eat it. Salad was super soggy and pretty much gross. Would not recommend it and will not be ordering from this place ever again

I don't even know what to rate this. We sat down at midnight on a Saturday night. The staff said they would serve us in a minute. All these drunk North Park hipster kids were inside ordering pizza. Good people watching. After about 30 minutes, a waiter came and asked us if we had been helped. we said, "no," and ordered soft drinks. He never came back with our soft drinks. About a hour in, we just left, no one had helped us. But it was a fun hang out and good atmosphere, which is what we were looking for anyway.

So, my boyfriend and I were on the lookout for something cheap and not necessarily vegan/asian in North Park and were pretty stoked when we saw this place. We just wanted a big salad and some pizza before we went out later that night. It wasn't very busy for a Friday evening, which was nice because we wanted to eat and then go back home to Carlsbad. We ordered a 14 inch veggie pizza for 18 bucks. Kind of pricy for a pizza, but hey. And a big house salad. The pizza was thin crust and really heavy on the the tomato..kind of too crunchy as though it was slightly over done. Also, the flavor was kind of blah. I had to add a ton of parm and crushed red pepper to spice it up a bit. Not bad though. The salad was nothing spectacular. Service was fine. Over-all...nothing too special. Jussssssst one of those nights I guess.

After a long night of getting' my drink on at the "U", I was hankering for a bite to eat. Being a San Diego native, I realize that after 1:00 a.m., I'm pretty much left to choose between bean & cheese burritos, or those strange looking sushi rolls at 7-11. Seriously, what is that stuff? Imitation, imitation crab? I don't know, but it looks gross... Anyway, as I was taking off, Steve (U-31 owner) told me and the lady about this Italian place right down the street called Florencia's. He claimed that they served food and adult bevs until 2:00 a.m. Sure enough, he was right! I was so excited about this alternative dining option and hustled down University to scope it out. Upon arrival, the staff gave us a hearty, warm greeting. There was nobody else in the joint, so we didn't know if they were actually open or not. Of course, they were. The waitress was really friendly and suggested we try the cheesy-bread. I'm not kidding when I say that it's the best bread of its kind that I've ever eaten. We also ordered the pesto, sun dried tomato and spinach pizza. It was very good as well. We washed those delicious carbs down with a few glasses of chianti, followed by a 2:00 a.m. cannoli. What a great way to end the night! Let's recap: Open late-Check Good food-Check Cheap wine-Check Deliver's beer/wine to your door if you're within 5 miles-Check...and AWESOME Ruggy's new favorite late night eatery-Check, check, check

Florencia's is one of my favorite spots on University Ave. The first thing you'll notice about this place is the atmosphere, dimly lit, quiet, never really crowded, and classic crooners like Dean Martin are usually playing softly in the background. Awesome. The service is touch and go, sometimes you'll be greeted by a smiling waitress with a table and menus ready for you, other times you'll walk in to find a harried and slightly surly waitress who obviously wants to go home after a long day. Its fifty-fifty. The food is wonderful, my favorites are the veal parmegiana and chicken scampi, but pretty much everything on their menu is appetizing. I've yet to take someone here who couldn't find something they liked. Parking can be an issue, as its on University Ave. you probably want to avoid driving here on weekends and during the evening as it will take a while to find a space. The one thing that really bugs me is how long it takes for the kitchen to prepare your dishes. Even when the restaurant is nearly empty, it will be a while between ordering and actually getting your food. If you like Italian, are a pizza fan, or just feel like eating somewhere quiet with a nice atmosphere then try out Florencia's

Update: I'm bumping these guys up to 5 stars because of the consistently rad service I've received & quality of food ordered. It's always the same delivery guy when I order (after 2pm), and he's polite and prompt. Today I called in an order for a pasta dinner & a 2-liter of soda, was quoted 45 minutes, and the delivery guy was knocking on my door not a second after 20 minutes had passed (!) because I hadn't picked up the unrecognized # 2 minutes ago when he called (hey, delivery in under 20 minutes? when does that happen?). They're REAL italian food, so focus on the chicken dinners (so moist!), peppers, meats, pastas, and sauces. My only misstep so far was ordering the florencia's special (pizza, salad, wings, ~$20) and letting the bbq wings sit overnight in the fridge before I ate them. We're talking so-tender-they-fall-off-what-little-bone-there-is wings here, but they were also literally SWIMMING (AUGH) in the (admittedly delicious) bbq sauce. It's dense, it's classic, it's garlic-y and packed with tomatoes and basil and fat, expect to pay a few bucks more for this level of quality compared to say, Domino's or Papa John's. SO MUCH MUCH better than D'angelos down the street. Oh, and THEY DELIVER UNTIL 2AM GUYS.

I don't know what was up with this place, but the service was lackadaisical and weird. The only reading reason that you're getting 2 stars is because its users the antipasto salad dressing was delicious, but the lettuce should be chopped and not shredded. The spag and canelloni was mediocre at best. Suggestion.... Plate the cannelloni on top of the spaghetti and not on the side and cover it with a little sauce too. Minnestrone soup was bland and tasteless. Walked in and 3 wait staff, only one other table was occupied in the entire place. We viewed the menu on the sidewalk and then walked in....and stood there. No welcome, "you want a table or menu." No, we just rolled in just for kicks. Ordered our drinks, which we received... after we received our meals. He checked on us once.... All three wait staff were behind the counter with their heads down diddling with their phones. 2 tables guys! Seriously? If you want me to vote for a higher minimum wage, you need to get your customer service shit together. Terrible wait staff, mediocre food at best.

Had the most amazing delicious pizza here with friends after a night out! Loved how they were open late with great service! Comfortable place to hang out. we had a big group so we were able to combine a couple tables. But the best part of the night was when I had left my wallet on the table by accident and the wonderful staff at Florencia's had made sure it was returned to me. Thank you!! I will definately be back

Open til 3am. I called at 2:48, asked for delivery, he said it would be an hour. We were really hungry so what's an hour wait? Sure enough 45 minutes later my pizza arrived, exactly how I ordered. $22 for a large 3 topping. The service was great, the pizza was mediocre at best, and keep in mind I was really hungry, and it was 3am so it should of been "so good" but it wasn't. All in all minus 1 for the quality. Service is on point.

Good pizza. I'm really picky and I would definitely order again! I had delivery which took almost an hour...no biggie..they said 45-1 hr. Pizza had lots of toppings but was luke warm. Delivery guy Jordan was really nice. Price is definitely higher than the typical pizza chains but all I care about is good pizza. Would give 5 stars if my pizza was hot!

Seriously.... A half an hour for four pieces of pizza?! I how can they call themselves an after hours joint when they take sooo long to deliver food. And to top it off, pizza is lackluster. I feel like I wasted valuable time that I could have spent driving elsewhere to get decent food. Wack times 5.... Oh, and did I mention that people who came ten minuets after us got their food before us

NO NO NO. If you are wanting a pizza and you're high on meth and coke, it might be acceptable. If you are a little drunk and attempting to order a pizza for delivery past midnight, order from this place and you will surely STILL be disappointed. Their sauce was bland and their 16" pizza came to TWENTY THREE DOLLARS. Way too fucking much for a pizza, even my drunk ass was surprised at how bad I was jipped. Nasty. Stay away.

Go to Olive Garden instead! After three cocktails we found ourselves craving pasta. We debated Olive Garden or this place that looked more authentic. It's always a risk to try somewhere new. The server greeted us and we sat outside in a small table. We asked for a lemon soda and an orange soda which he brought us promptly. We ordered the half spaghetti and lasagna and a small 10" pepperoni pizza. He brought the salad that had romaine, tomato, banana peppers and some very grainy croutons. He said he would bring us plates to share but never did. No biggie to us. Then I saw the tv inside and asked to move inside which he was very nice about. We were the only ones seated inside. Our food came out approximately 30 minutes later. It felt like forever. The presentation of the lasagna was nice but the pizza lacked cheese and sauce even though I asked for a lot of sauce on it. The cheese topping the lasagna was the only good thing of this meal and this is why I must give it a 2 star score. The sauce was thin and bland and there was not enough of it. The lasagna meats were chewy. The pepperoni pizza was a good size for a personal pizza but was very dry and cheese less. The pepperoni was not good either, digiourno quality. I was hoping it was a good place since it has a casual upscale feel to it. My mom always said to eat where the people are. If a place is empty it's probably not good. I should have listened. It's no Olive Garden but honestly a Pizza Hut at home would have been better and not $30 with tip. When I asked for the check he asked if we wanted a to-go box and I said "umm no that's ok. He looked surprised since exactly half was left. He brought the check and asked if there had been anything wrong with the pizza. Not wanting to say that it tasted like crap, I said we were full. He put the check on the table and said, "since you only ate half, I charged you 6.99 and not 12.99". That was very nice of him even though the quality still did not merit it's $7 price. It took some of the bad experience away. We left feeling like we had at least tried somewhere new even though it didn't work out. Oh well.

Probably the worst, rudest service I've ever received. And the food sucked. Blah and meh come to mind. To many other good places to eat around North Park to waste your time here. No wonder it was empty on a Saturday night.

Went in for a few slices, 2 of which I paid extra for black olives. Before I left I checked and there were none so I let the guy at the register know. He took the box back, 2 minutes later came back out and handed my order to me. I checked the box again and I find black olives dumped on top. I know orders get messed up from time to time but presentation is everything. If you're going to fix an order do it right! The pizza itself was mediocre and edible. The cheese wasn't evenly distributed and the sauce was sweet to me. I read the reviews but gave this place a shot cause it's close to home and open late.

So after my previous experience with this restaurant, i truly believed i would never eat from this place again. However, this evening, just 3 short hours after i posted my first review i was contacted by the restaurants manager apologizing what had happened. He was extremely nice and offered to send me a new order, or even anything else, completely free! He was very apologetic and really nice! I really appreciated such great customer service! With in the next hour i received my clam chowder, i asked for plain fettuccine alfredo this time, and they were even nice enough to surprise me with cheese cake!! A+ service right there! The pasta was much better as well! I was much more pleased with this experience.

My wife and I had twin newborns in the hospital here in San Diego. That weekend we decided to stay at a hotel off Hotel Circle. Opening the hotels folder of menus and local services we came across a flyer from Forencias. Craving some pizza we called for a delivery at 4:50pm, ordering a large pizza and a 2 liter of soda. Nothing too difficult for a pizza place, or so I thought. 6:40 pm rolled around and no delivery, no phone call. I called them and a lady answered who said their busy and the delivery just left. Just left! Almost 2 hours after calling and the delivery had just left. Do you think the pizza was still warm? I told them to cancel my order.

Florencias Restaurant It was after 11:00 and I was hungry, I had to find a place that was doing pies and delivery. Found this spot. Placed my order. Food showed up well in the window they said it would. Ordered the thin crust pepperoni and cheese and the BBQ wings. Pizza was hot, cheesy and tasty. Wings where huge, plumb, hot and actually tasted like they and been barbecued! if its late and your looking for pizza, look no further.

I am rewriting the review that I left earlier because of the amazing service and profuse apology I got from the owner after the terrible experience that my boyfriend and I had. The next day after the bad experience the owner called me (not sure how he got my number, maybe from caller ID, haha) and offered to remake the meal that we had. We came back into the restaurant and they only remade the pizza (not the cheesy bread as well that was part of our original order). We left even more disgusted than before. The owner called me again and offered us our money back. We got it! He called again and apologized yet another time for the horrific service. I was glad that he cared enough to follow up and make sure that our bad service was turned into excellent customer service.

Absolutely terrible! Never order from this place. We ordered a pizza last night and let me tell you, it wasn't delivery, it was basically fucking digorno. Fucking disgusting. It took an hour to arrive and our pizza was soggier than a Las Vegas stripper's panties after her night shift. Idk if I was disgusted or slightly turned on. I would give this place negative 3 stars if I could. Never again. This place sucks. Reporting them to the BBB

Food = 4 stars Service = 2 stars I was excited to try this place, since my boyfriend and I love Italian food and just moved in across the street, but as mentioned in a few other reviews, the service seemed completely focused on deliveries. There was only one other couple in the restaurant, and yet our service was slow and bland. Our server was completely stone-faced the entire time, and didn't check on us once from the time our food was delivered to well after we had finished eating. Meh. Food was good though, and pretty inexpensive with the current specials on their flyer. I doubt we will ever dine in again, but will definitely hit them up for late-night take-out, which seems to be all they really care about anyway.

Overpriced and underwhelmed. We ordered from hotel after long road trip. Delivery was prompt but no plates, silverware, napkins, soda can was warm. The sandwich we ordered was very underwhelming, tasted like frozen chicken heated up. The calzone was burned and unsatisfying not worth the price at all.

There's been a few times that I've craved baked Ziti. Anyone who likes Italian food, who's connected or lived like The Sopranos knows what I'm talking about. The cheese browns on the top with the pecorino and mozzarella. I've even tried one version with ricotta. I'm gonna say, with all due respect, that Florencia's version is eh - pretty good, but it's unlike the homemade variety your Nonna made. Florencia's pizza is also fairly good and I'd say it hits the spot. Bite sized bits: - Daily lunch specials (get ya baked Ziti) - Fairly good menu selections - University location Park south of here on the street or in one of the pay lots and lunch is a bargain at $5.95.

Oh Florencias! As I'm a new North Park resident, I was pleased to find that this convenient lil place is within walking distance of my place! I ordered take out: the seafood fetuccini. OMG. DELICIOUS! And they didn't skimp on the seafood either. It came with a generous helping of scallops, muscles, shrimp, clams and calamari. Also, it came with a side salad and whopping slice of garlic break. This is enough for 2, probably 3 people. Aside fr. the fact that it took less than 10 min. for me to walk there, my order was ready almost exactly on time (I think I waited about 2 min.), the staff was friendly and appeared to be pretty accommodating. Florencias, I will be back soon.

After readi such good reviews I decided to have delivery. Was told an hour for delivery which is not the complaint but when it finally got here I opened my 2l soda to have it explode all over myself and couch. After cleaning up that mess I finally got to the food which was just as a mess as the soda was which makes me wonder what the driver did on the way here. I ordered the chicken parmigiana, the chicken was smaller then expected but the noodles where hard. Wasnt very pleased about that. Finally openi g the garlic bread it was soggy and just disgusting. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone nor do I plan on going back. I wish I saved my money and went somewhere else.

Great food with Great atmosphere. Came to visit some friends and decided to try Florencia's. It was a great choice bc it was delicious. We tried the Meat Feast and the Alfredo pizza. I highly recommend this place.

Can you say garlic pesto cheesy bread? Fantastic! My boyfriend has been talking about this tasty bread he's had from there. Oozing with melted cheese, warm and soft. So we order garlic cheese bread and some chicken parmigiana for delivery. We get the order and unfortunately it wasn't the right garlic bread. Don't get me wrong it was tasty but it was sourdough and to me sourdough is ...well, sour. You could give me a shoe with melted cheese and I would eat it. It was good. Chicken parm was tasty too and the spaghetti was good too. So the next weekend I make lasagna and he says he's asked around and it's the pesto cheesy bread we want. For delivery you need $12 so we decide on some wings and the garlic pesto bread. 45 minutes. Tick toc waiting. 45 minutes, an hour, I'm hungry my boyfriend calls them and they say 5 minutes. So I am salivating and the lasagna is calling my name. An hour and a 1/2 and we finally get the stuff. Pesto bread is the schizznit worth the wait. Although I prefer to get mine in say 45 minutes tops. Wings awesome. So there you have it...garlic pesto bread= 5 stars , wings =5 stars. An hour and 1/2 for delivery =1 star.

I guess my expectation for pizza is pretty high. This place does not do anything above high expectations, so it got a 3 star instead of a 4 star. The pizza was very cheap, but it was not memorable. Great for late night in the area if you are bar hoping or have late night munchies.

Why we came here that fateful, I mean less ( yelp wont let me use the strike option, which makes it not funny ) night, I don't exactly know. I didn't live far at the time, nor do I now, so it must of been in that few month phase I was avoiding my roommates.... ahhh, it all comes back to me know. Yes, that was the case. Roommates. And I've managed to spend almost every night not at home. But that's another story. We walked in, maybe around 8pm, average weekday. The place was completely empty, with exception to a family sitting in the corner. We slowly walked toward the back of the restaurant waiting for someone to acknowledge our pretense... Took awhile, but a waitress finally let us know, we could sit where ever we wanted. Well, Obviously. The food was, again, average. I probably had issues choosing from the non-vegetarian friendly menu, and got something lame like, a salad and cheese pizza. The only thing I appreciated was the large glasses of water, which was a win win, since our waitress never once came back to our table, except to hand off the check.

Me thinks not.........for Pizza. Ordered the works and it was awful .No flavor at all and it was overcooked .Crust was awful. Would not order pizza again from this place. Also, took 1 1/2 hours for delivery and it was cold when it arrived.

I used to like the food here (still do) but the service on some nights is horrible. It's always been iffy, and has gotten better lately. Its a given that you'll seat yourself without acknowledgment; that's just how they are. But tonight I sat down and wasn't even noticed for 10 minutes. No service, no nothing. I have no idea how long it would have taken; I just left. The two other tables looked like they were waiting for service too. This has happened here a few times before. To the owner: shame on you. The way you've run Florencia makes it seem like you have no pride in the place.

The food is decent and reasonably priced, but their delivery service is a joke. We ordered at 9:10, and as of 10:40 we haven't gotten our food. This has happened before, which is great because we're only 4 blocks away. We could have walked over, eaten in, and been home by now. I just called to cancel and they were pretty nonchalant about it. Didn't even get an apology. And to top it off, I won't be the least surprised if they've already charged my credit card, which reminds me of the time they double-charged me and it took about a dozen calls and visits to get a refund. I guess it's my fault, as I keep ordering from them due to the fact that they're close, cheap, and open late. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to matter if they can't get their shit together enough to get me my food. Don't waste your time with these jerks.

Anything that give me variety late at night is going to automatically move up my list. Florencias rocks! When I take out, I will pick up a pizza or pasta. When I dine in, I usually stick with a glass of wine, and the matching pasta thingy they got going on. Its 9.95 i think (or used to be), and you get to mix up the order between to pasta dishes. I always choose lasagna and spaghetti, comes with a huge piece of garlic bread, and a small salad. Now the italian dressing that comes with the salad IS INCREDIBLE!!! I swear I can just take shots of it and be a happy man. One thing I have experienced a few times, unfortunately, is they're not the quickest to cook the meals. You won't be disappointed here. You definitely shouldn't come here is you are craving the best italian food in town. But if you have a pasta fix, this will hit the spot. Marwan doesn't lie.

Their manicotti is the best I've ever had, and I typically don't like ricotta cheese. It melts in your mouth and is very flavorful. It's handmade from scratch with their own filling recipe. Delivery takes a long time, so if you plan to have it delivered order about an hour before you want to eat or be prepared to wait. The lobster ravioli, calamari and pesto alfredo are also very delicious!

  • Amy R.

I went here for dinner with a friend. Service was so/so, the food was brought out quickly, but the server didn't really check on us even though the restaurant was completely empty. I assume most of their business is delivery or late night. I ordered spinach lasagna and my friend ordered cheese ravioli. What we got was spinach ravioli and cheese manicotti but we ate it anyway. It's all just pasta, cheese and marinara anyway. Food quality was fair, not awful, not great. If I wanted late night food I would order from here, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go there for dinner. There are too many other restaurants in North Park with better food and service.

Oh, Florencia's. Sweet, sweet Florencia's...... I wanted to enjoy you and even gave you a couple of chances for me to like you. But theres something about the food Ive had there that is off... Now before I continue, I need to say that Ive only had wonderful service there. The staff is awesome. ok im done. Ive had their pizza twice and it was meh both times. I dont know if I should call it "saucy" or something to that affect. I vaguely remember the first time trying their pizza the toppings were pretty sparse, a little less than I like them... but no biggie, I was getting delivery pizza. Well I was passing by there one night with a friend and we decided to eat there. It was late and we didn't really know what we wanted. I got the chicken scampi, which was probably one of the most bland-tasting things Ive had in a very long time. The garlic bread and salad were good, but even after I added every condiment on the table the dish was still disappointing. My friend's chicken parmigiana was alright, a little tough, but alright. I let her try it and she said it wasn't that good. She was happy that I ordered it instead of her, which was the original plan, haha. We left and went home and both felt kind of gross. The next day we remembered that we had leftovers and we were hungry so we ate them before we left to meet up with another friend. My homegirl took one bite and said that it was disgusting. More bland tasting than last night. I ate it anyway with the help of some spices. But the moral of the story is that I had horrible stomach pains the entire afternoon after eating it. I was worried that I might get sick, but i ended up being fine, just with stomach aches throughout the day. I dont think Ill be coming back. I was actually really worried that I was gonna have "symptoms" of food poisoning. After reading these reviews this place seems to either be hit or miss and ive clearly been missed.

Shitty service for both dine in and delivery! Pizza was delivered freezing cold after an hour and a half. Tasted like it had soaked up the cardboard. No better if you dine in so expect to be there for a while (and they always mess up at least one order). Only reason I didn't give them 1 star is because the food is alright for the price.

Late night service is great to have as an option but the pizza we ordered was just plain and crust not fully cooked. They did take an hour to deliver it. Nice try though.

I've vowed to never eat at this place again after 3 barely passable meals with extremely poor service. Considering the level of food, one really should be able to just order at the counter and have it brought out when ready. Especially worth avoiding during North Park Nights (nay Ray at Night) evenings when service can be painfully slow. If you want good Italian, hit Alexander's down at 30th and Upas, or even Apertivo.

So I live like 3 blocks from this place and I must say I love it. I can call in an order, Put my shoes on, walk there and my pizza (or whatever I ordered) is just coming out of the oven. Awesome. Their pizza is great! the crust ok, but their sauce is excellent. and like several of the other reviews here... The cheesy pesto garlic bread... well lets just say, I have found a new religion. They have a decent wine selection also.

Rating this place is tricky. I really wish there were half stars. What i like the most is that it's never super busy, though, from a business standpoint, that sucks. One time i was able to get a group of 20+ seated with only 5 minutes notice, which was amazing. The food is good, and the prices aren't bad. This particular time i went in, it was about 11 o'clock a night, and a friend of mine wanted pizza, and florencia's was the first (and only) thing to come to mind, i didn't know what else was open that was close and i didn't feel like looking. We got there and had a 16" Pepperoni and Cheese Pizza, with extra pepperoni, then extra pepperoni on top of that. (i'm a fan) They were playing a mix CD that had a spanish version of "A Whole New World"- Fantastico Mundo! They had ESPN on a TV behind the woman i was seated across from, which sucks for me, because my eyes tend to be attracted to things that move, and i kept looking up. I don't even like sports. A few minutes later the Pizza came out and it wasn't that bad, it was actually prety freakin' tasty. but some of my cheese fell off when i picked it up. It's no Lefty's, but it was a good Pizza. Which is why I wish i could give half starts, because, really 4 stars for Pizza seems excessive, but 3 for late night pizza seems low, i guess it's average. 3 will do. I recommend this place if you want a late night ( open til 2) sit down Italian place.

Warning! Wolf in sheep's clothing. Italian is not authentic at all. Chicken Parm tasted like it was out of a frozen bag. Ravioli's were soggy. Pizza is very doughy, similar to Dominos. Overall a terrible restaurant.

A cute little restaurant to go to if you want to get food and wine pre-Pink Elephant Bar!! It doesn't look like it would be much of anything from the outside, but when you walk in you can feel the atmosphere hit you, like a storm of snowflakes. They have cute little white Christmas lights inside and the lighting in the place is just right. Not too bright, not too dark.

This place is the best and I am their best customer :) If its late and you're hungry you're calling. Who else is open and serves good food til 2 AM. C'mon now - even get you a beer with that pizza! Just beware that their service is slow and well 45 min. delivery doesn't happen that often - but hey they are busy. Did I mention that the staff is always super friendly - that gets you far in business. The whole combination just works even if they can't hold a candle to the pizzas of Chicago. Good food and good times.

I love this place! I always call in my order and pick up the food or order late at night when I have had a little too much to drink. Their Spicy Antonio (spicy alfredo) is so yummy and their alfredo is amazing! On top of that their garlic bread and italian dressing is the best I have had. The pastas come with garlic bread and salad and the portions are enough to split and even have leftover (if you aren't a pig)! So good! I think I might eat there for dinner tonight after talking about. Yum!

OK so I ordered for delivery and 1st off it was hard to hear the guy on the other end. He almost acted like he had better things to do. I expressed how it was my 1st time ordering from them and he didn't pause to care, just asked, "OK? What can I get for you?" So great start right? Then I went with the classic pepperoni, seems like a can't miss right? WRONG! About exactly 45 minutes later, the guy shows up. I pop open the pizza amd WOW does it look delicious. However, upon picking up the first slice, the cheese and pepperoni fell right off! I HATE when that happens! Maybe this is just a delivery thing and the in house pizzas are firmer, but mine definitely wasn't! The only reason I'm giving it two stars is because the next day I ate some of it cold and it was pretty good actually. Win some lose some.

Oh man, I wanted to love their pizza. We just traveled 10 hours and were pooped. We checked on Yelp mobile and it looked like a decent pizza place. We ordered at 11:00 PM. We were told 45 minutes to an hour. Called around 12:10 AM. To their credit, they guy who answered seemed genuinely apologetic and said they were swamped. Hey, we get it. 12:35 AM, we got a knock on our hotel room door. The delivery guy apologizes again. We sign for a $24 tab (and $4 tip) and get our pizza. This is where things went terribly wrong. Our pizza was SOGGY in the middle. We were wondering why the guy gave us two boxes. Its because the box the pizza was in was so soggy a hole broke through at the bottom so he needed another box to carry under it. Why didn't they just transfer the pizza into the other box? Or better yet, why not cook the pizza all the way through so it wasn't so soggy?! Such a disappointment. Especially waiting an hour an half to get it and traveling for 10 hours. OK, the 10 hour drive had nothing to do with them but what a disappointing pizza.

Really good food, and open till 2 a.m.! When we make delivery orders, they come quickly because we live close by. The baked pastas are deelish. The pizza is good too, but we've only had it a couple of times because we can't pry ourselves away from the baked pastas. The interior is cheesy and table service can be a little slow because they do so much delivery business. The food is worth waiting for.

summary: good food, decor alright. but the wait here was unacceptable. The salad dressing was awesome. Had to have been homemade. Can't remember a better dressing. The food was also very good - veal and the jumbo shrimp fetuccini with vegetables. Both were extremely good. The decor was okay - lots of statuesque pictures, antideluvian arts, etc. However, we were there for over an hour and a half & there were only 3 other couples in the place. They said it was the phone orders. Don't know if I believe or agree with that but in any event, I don't think I will return. Love the food but hated the wait.

I've only had pizza here. The sauce is what I happen to like about their pizza. There are so many different types of pizza and I crave different types, and Florencias satisfies one of those cravings. It may not blow you away but it sure can hit the spot. Staff super nice every time.

Its late...about 12 am or maybe 2 am (just depending on where i am coming from)...and I am hungry. But I am not in the mood for 24 hour mexican food, I want pizza. There is only one italian place that is open in north park that late...and its Florencia's. Yes, points for being open that late. Big minus for being somewhat pricey for pretty mediocre food. I really want to love this place, I really do...especially since I always get late night pizza/pasta cravings. But I always end up disappointed in my food once ive taken the first 2 bites. The pizza is always either too sweet or just ends up tasting like cafeteria food. I got the baked ziti, thinking it would be different but it was overcooked...it was lacking marinara sauce and the mozzarella /riccatta cheese was nonexistent.. My Bf had the torpedo sandwich, the first time he said it was pretty good..but the second time was pretty disappointing. I did have really good cheesy breadsticks there once, but I remember ordering it with a slice of cheese pizza and the whole thing came out to 13? I just didn't get it....but it was late at night and i was trying to sober up and i was really hungry. But yeah....cheesy breadsticks...yum. I don't know. I've been trying to rationalize it over and over. Trying to figure out a reason why im always soo dissatisfied with the food. Is it because its late night food, and i really shouldn't have such high expectations for a place open soo late? Or maybe I just held my standards too high because I think the Venetian in point loma is the best italian place ever, and no one else can hold a candle to it? Maybe I should keep trying other dishes ? Maybe its the time that I go? sigh.. i just don't know. Don't be surprised it you still see me there late at night ordering food. I think its because: 1)its the only italian place open late in north park 2) I want pizza 3) I just dont get it, and im hoping, "Gee, maybe it will be better toinght cus im really craving pizza/pasta". If you really want to know what really amazing italian food taste like, go to The Venetian in point loma. (my yelp review is still pending) Im serious. Go there, and then you will know what I mean.

If you have ever longed to experience Italy in all her splendor and glory, RUN from this dump as fast as you can! I placed a delivery order for veal parmigiana, and by the time it arrived an hour and a half later, it was little more than shoe leather draped over a sad, wet, overcooked pile of spaghetti. It was the single worst dining experience of my life (and I ain't young). When I called the restaurant (twice to check on my order and once to express my displeasure with what finally arrived), I was told by a rude little person named Darlene that if I didn't like it, I should just not order from them in future (NOT TO WORRY DARLENE -- I'M WAY AHEAD OF YOU ON THAT ONE!). To her credit, she did knock $5 off of the bill, but any other pizza joint would have made it right, not just better. The driver who finally brought my order actually told me to my face that I was being unreasonable because I expected my food to be good, hot and on time. If the management of this restaurant is reading these reviews, I can only offer them this advice. Close up shop and let Felippi's and Extreme Pizza do what you never will. Offer good Italian at a good price -- hot, fast and without the snotty attitude. And in case you think that one disgruntled customer and one bad review can't hurt you; you should know that I work at one of the prominent boutique hotels downtown, and our guests come to me for restaurant recommendations. Figure all the lost income that this will cost you...

We used to be all about Florencia's. We were three drunk girls who want pizza late at night, and Florencia's came to the rescue many a time after leaving the bars and all other pizza places were closed. Lately, I have experienced so much bad service and inconsistencies with the food that I haven't ordered in over a month. Some thoughts: For a place that is rarely busy and maybe 8 blocks from my house, waiting over an hour for a pizza is ridiculous. Their customer service is awful. From the lack of personalities and friendliness when picking up orders, to the crazy delivery drivers, it's just funny. Driver antics: ~Calling numerous times because they can't figure out where we live. Can't you mapquest it before you leave the restaurant? Why is it, when we order weekly, that we know we're going to get a phone call from someone who is lost (and we live ONE street over)? It's silly. ~Open the door for delivery guy. He walks right in, through the living room, into the kitchen to set the pizza down. We all stare at each other in bewilderment. ~On another occasion, my roommate is forced to cancel her debit card because delivery guy fails to return it to her. She calls Florencia's when realizing this after he has left, and he says he put it in our mailbox. Not true. It's just gone. I've also realized that the pizza is not as good sober as I thought it was in my drunken states. The pesto bread is wonderful though, if they didn't cover it with SO much parmesan cheese. All in all, I'll probably end up calling them in a drunken stupor at some point, but I've turned anti-Florencia because they just don't have their stuff together.

Florencia's Pizza has one thing going for it: they deliver until way, way later than anyone else in the area. It's like either two or four in the morning before they park their car for good each night. I have had a couple of frustrating experiences, however (they ran out of what we wanted one time but didn't tell us until they arrived with only half of our order), so dial with caution. The pizza is pretty good though. AV

We had a horrible experience ordering pizza here. Our food arrived 2 hours after ordering (their excuse was, "we are very busy"), the order did not contain everything we ordered and the employee we spoke with on the phone was incredibly rude and unhelpful. I will never order from here again, and would not recommend anyone else ordering from this restaurant either.

Good, fresh tasting pizza. Similar to Papa John's in style, but better tasting and less greasy. Decent delivery times too if they're not slammed. Open late too, which is nice when stumbling home... I've only ever had the pizza from Florencia's, but they have a fairly large menu.

Took 2 hours to get my pizza. After the first hour I called to check on my order... and they said that they had no record of it! I told them not to bring it then because my guests couldn't wait any longer. But then the pizza showed up at the 2 hour mark after I had cancelled. needless to say I had two pizzas and all my guests had left.

I have to say that this joint has the best Hawaiian pizza around. I have had the peperoni, cheese and sausage ones as well but hands down the Hawaiian is killer! I also enjoyed the Chicken Piccata which was excellent with capers, lemons, and yummy pasta of your choice in a white wine sauce...hit the spot. The place is also ran by some really nice and friendly folks who are always smiling and really just enjoy what they do! It's a great place to eat in North Park.

This place is my favorite go-to delivery place in North Park. It is open late and while the delivery is sometimes a little slow, the food is always delicious, the delivery people are super friendly, and very apologetic when they are late.

Although I haven't had everything on the menu, what I have had was okay, some of their pasta dishes can be fantastic, although I have never ordered them, I have had pizza's ordered from there by others, and I was not happy, probably the greasiest pizza I've ever had

We hit this place well after the 11pm news came on, and were greeted courteously as we walked in. Menus were presented just about immediately. Coffee was brewed freshly just for me. The food .. oh my god, the food!!!!! The calamari was perfectly crisp on the outside and moist on the inside. The antipasto had provolone and mortadella rolled up together. The only negative point was that we were asked what kind of dressing with the antipasto (wth?????). They cheerfully supplied oil and vinegar on request (to top the antipasto). The calzone was a dream. The bread for the crust is very well made, and just the perfect thickness to hold the ingredients. The fillings were well mixed and not chintzy. The waiter was kind, considerate, and pretty decent, bless his heart. He didn't try to introduce himself or make himself our best buddy (which I appreciate immensely), he simply made sure that we had what we wanted, and that we were happy then left us alone. This place has the same general prices as a family restaurant, but the quality of the food is way beyond "the average family restaurant". Double thumbs up!

If you are looking for late night italian dining, then Florencias is the spot! One item on the menu that is a must try is the Cheesy Bread. Although it takes 15 minutes to bake, it is well worth it. The pizza is fairly good and not too greasy. They have a pretty standard menu from your pastas, hot/cold subs and a slew of speciality pizzas. And with delivery til 2 am, Florencias is a great place to get your italian grub on.

I used to love this place so much but last night's experience changed my mind. I was told our order would be dleivered in 45 minutes. 1-1/2 hours after I called it in, I finally called them out of desperation only to be told the delivery driver had *just* left. 10 minutes later, the guy showed up. For food that had just left the restaurant, it sure was cold! To make matters worse, the "lasagna" didn't look like anything but a few mounds of meat sauce and cheese, there was hardly any sauce on our spaghetti, and the salad had icky brown pieces of lettuce in it. This delivery service left MUCH to be desired. I almost feel like calling to demand my money back!

In the mood for Italian, my friends and I decided on Florencia's Pizza for a Saturday night meal, as it is in walking distance. The ambiance of the restaurant is classy and relaxing (despite the bright, distracting Coke fountain amidst the Italian decor). The waiters were professional, kind and on top of their service. We began our meal with garlic bread, which was on thick, white bread and tasted good, but was nothing out of the ordinary as far as garlic toast is concerned. For my main course, I ordered Fettuccine with mushrooms, tomatoes and a spicy tomato sauce. They were very willing to work with me to ensure no cheese was on my food as I am unfortunately lactose intolerant. And, at an Italian restaurant, usually weird looks come your way when you say "no cheese". My sister ordered a personal pizza and my friend ordered spaghetti and meatballs...or meatball I should say as there was one gigantic meatball in the center of the plate (which he at first commented on it being false advertising but then couldn't even finish his whole plate). The food portions are large and everything is served hot. We did not order wine, but next time I think I will definitely do so. I'm also very tempted to try a cannoli! Overall, this was a yummy place, but nothing that really shocked me as extraordinary.

The best pizza I've eaten in San Diego this year! It seems to me that most neighborhood pizzeria's pizzas never have enough tomato sauce... they mainly consist of an extremely thin layer of sauce and cheese and toppings. Well, Florencias pizza bucks that trend and brings back the balanced pizza. The amount of sauce (which has a nice spaghetti sauce basil taste) is proportional to the rest of the toppings. This is what a neighborhood pizza should taste like!

the food just tastes bad. the torpedo has HUGE slices of disgusting meat--and i've had this sandwich all over the country, so i'm not confused about how it should be--really gross bread, and just...awfulness. like it doesn't feel good to put in your mouth. someone i was with had a meatball sub. this is honestly the worst meatball sub i've ever had. you're better off at subway. these are again way oversized, poor quality chunks of meat, not even fully cooked, on the same awful bread, and just huge, inedible, and awful. on the other hand, the french fries and mousse pie were delicious, so one star! seriously, eat ANYWHERE else if you have the ability to taste. i don't like to diss on restaurants, but if somebody could have spared me this experience, i would thank them.

This place has good food at good prices. Unfortunately, they don't have good customer service. They don't do a good job of answering the phone or delivering the food. Every single time I call I get this response, "Florencia Pizza, can you hold?" And then I end up holding before I can take my order...which gets delivered 1-1.5 hours later. They really need to hire more help, it's ridiculous. Like I said the food is good but I only order from here when they're the only ones open late at night.

The best Roast Beef Sandwitch/sub I've ever had, and had to go back for another the following week. A definite must-stop-by if you're in the area, or not for that matter.

The food here is pretty good--very saucy pizza, as other tomato-sauce fans have mentioned. However, I'm giving only 2 stars based on the service. I think Florencia's can't make up its mind what kind of service it wants to give. They have a counter that invites you walk up and order what you want, but then they tell you to have a seat and they'll come take your order. But if you thought you were going to get a quick bite to eat, be forewarned----we waited 15-20 minutes before the lone waitress/hostess came to our table, long after we had decided on what to order and were waiting and waiting. Then, of course, we had to wait for our order to be prepared and cooked. The dining room has a soda fountain that looks like it's there for customers to refill their own drinks---but the lone waitress/hostess spent half her time refilling people's sodas instead of checking on food orders or bringing us our bill when we were ready to leave. There are some places where I like hanging out in for long periods of time---but I think the decision to chill should be my own, not based on lackluster service that leaves you looking around the room while others get their jumbo tumblers of cola refilled. But yeah,....the food is pretty good, if you don't mind waiting to be waited on.

Sunday night...hormones raging. I had a craving for Italian food...not the fancy smancy kind, and not the cheapy (pseudo italian crap), but rather the garlicky, cheesey, saucey variety reminescent of Mom. I checked out yelp for something in the North Park area. Florencia's...hmmm...had gotten a flier in the mail from them I think, but couldn't be sure if it was the one Point Loma or North Park. I don't believe they are the same owner. At any rate...the highlighted reviews discussing "cheesey bread" caught my eye. I had a hankering for a hunk o' cheese. We arrived after 9pm to an empty restaurant. I was a little concerned. I ordered the cheese filled pesto bread to start, along with the Chicken Parmesean. My friend ordered a chicken pomodora sub, my BF ordered the cheese ravioli and lasagna combo. I have to say that mine was...not wonderful. I have had much better. Mind you, Mom is Italian and makes a bad ass Chicken Parm. Mom's is crispy and tender. The secret is not baking with the sauce...add it to the plate at the last minute, or broil it for several minutes just to brown the cheese. Florencia's was soggy, and chewy, and kinda bland. Not the most pleasant of texures. My BF's lasagna was okay...the cheese filled ravioli are among the frozen kind. You really can't go too wrong with cheese ravioli. Good, not fantastic. You can get the Mona Lisa giant ravioli from Smart and Final and those are pretty darned tasty. My friend really enjoyed half of his giant sub...the whole thing was bigger than his head... it looked delicious. He is one picky bastard and he really loved it! I accidentally ordered the canneloni which I couldn't eat, because it had mammal flesh in it. I don't eat mammals, so we took it home and my BF consumed it later ( He really liked it). The cheese filled pesto breadsticks...which really don't appear to be bread sticks at all, but a ring of oozing cheesy goodness were the highlight of the meal for me. I can't get them at of my mind. I kind of wish I had never tried them...they were soooo good. Total comfort food. I will definitely come back or at least order from them when I am too lazy to leave the house. The one waitress that was there was somewhat friendly...not overflowing with bubbliness, but hey, maybe she was tired. We left her a big tip, because she took off the chicken...next time I might just try the manicotti...per Selena's review.

I don't understand why there's many bad reviews. I ordered a Pesto Pizza at 1:10 A.M received it at 2:00 A.M , I wouldn't complain about the wait time because that just means it's made fresh. As far as the taste, I enjoy it a lot. I'd recommend this place for late night food. All the other restaurants that deliver late night suck. As far as the looks, check out the picture on yelp of the Pesto Pizza. No filters.

I've read other review and I honestly don't understand why they don't like it. It was first time here today and I can say it is amazing!! I got the lunch special: personal pizza w/2 topping, and it was delicious. Light sauce, meat cooked right, and I ate the crust!(I usually throw it away). The waitress was very nice and helpful. Pretty good price.

My boyfriend brought me here today, it was great food and a great ambience. I ordered a chicken a la Rosa and my boyfriend had their torpedo sub. We accompanied our food with two glasses of chardonnay. It is a very comfortable setting and chill spot. The service is very good as well, given they only have two people answering phones and serving. Overall, awesome place. Will come again for sure!

Not very happy at all. If I were not on vacation and didn't have a very hungry 7 year old with me, I would be calling to complain and get my money back. First it took over an hour to get a 10 inch pizza and 2 cans of soda. Then when we finally got our order it was COLD, not hot and delicious like the box says. They didn't have the root beer that I ordered so they gave me the Fanta they had and a hot can of both coke and Dr pepper. Hot soda and cold pizza..? But wait there's more! Pizza usually comes in slices, right? Nope! Not here! And the cheese and toppings, on the pizza, right? Again, nope! Not here! Pizza was not cut! Good thing I am a prepared mom and had a plastic knife in my purse! And a spoon to scoop the cheese and toppings out of the corner of the box and back onto the pizza. Needless to say we will not be ordering here again during our stay and I will be letting the hotel know they should not be promoting this place! Edit to my review: Shortly after I posted the above review Michael called. Owner? Manager? I don't know but he wanted to make it right. So he sent a new pizza and two cold sodas. The pizza was cut this time and the toppings were on the pizza. I think still that it could have been hotter. Maybe invest in some new better bags that keep the pizza hot? It definitely tasted better this time though. I changed my star rating from one start to 3 solely based on them wanting to make it better.

Where do I start?? They send me a garbage can lid covered in cheese and called it a pizza and more than an hour late I might add. It was cold and very chewy. I came to the city of San Diego looking for fine Italian food like I hear San Diego was known for. My heart and soul was broken after I tasted florencias Italian food on my vacation away from home. Called in to complain about said pizza and was given credit for a future order. We called a couple days later to order chicken wings and cheesy bread instead. Only this time we waited even longer than the first time...and surprise surprise, COLD cheesy bread and we were short 3 wings!! All in all, I definitely DO NOT recommend anyone ordering from this place. Residence Inn...STOP promoting this crap restaurant!!!

I've been getting antipasto salads here for a few years, and think they're really good. Got lasagna once that I enjoyed also. But I keep going back for the salad. A meal in itself. It's large, with very fresh greens, lots of meats and cheese, for $8. The same salad for lunch is only $6.50 and includes garlic bread. In an area of high priced restaurants, that's a real bargain.

I had a slice of pizza in this pizza place in North Park. Kind of like Pillsbury frozen biscuit crust meets very acidic sauce and rubbery cheese. No herbs in the sauce, or garlic. Not one of the better slices I have had in SD. The waiter was a nice young boy, that is the best i can say.

So I'm reading the reviews and so far people are complaining about the delivery time. Problem is, most people realize you shouldn't depend on North Park delivery as a rule of thumb considering the dense building set up, confusing street set-up, and just general difficulty traveling around to find a particular address. This is made even more difficult if you live OUTSIDE of North Park and expect the drivers to take the freeway usually occupied by people commuting around Mission Valley, North Park, and National City. So this review takes delivery time out of the equation. The actual restaurant feels like a mom and pop shop at times, though it does seem like they hire a few locals to work the front. There is a lack of craft beers on the menu and instead go for more generic Bud and so forth, which is strange considering that they do have a license to sell in North Park. I personally feel that this does set them apart as a spot to cool down from bar hopping on the main strip off of University. In terms of staff, they're very flexible with orders and will let you customize slices. It never seems crowded, so often the staff will wait on you hand and foot, even coming by to refill your soda cup and insisting you stay seated and relax when the machine is 4 feet away and you can do it yourself. In terms of the food, I've only had the pizza and can't speak for their pasta dishes. The slices are on the thicker side though not too fluffy, so you do get a good bang for your buck. Is it the best slice in the neighborhood? Not with Berkeley Pizza and Scilian Thing so close by, but that doesn't mean their slices don't hit the spot.

  • Angel S.

All I can say is "WOW" how does this place survive? My delivery was four hours late (Yes 4) and when I called they were very rude and asked what they wanted them to do about it? Ummm...okay. And then other awful things they said that weren't professional. I'm just going to let the pictures speak for themselves. I don't usually do this (well I've never done this) but when you get treated poorly, and you have a hungry child then things get real very quick. Hey pizza was uncooked she had to spit it out. And my veggie lasagna had no veggies and a ton of cold ground beef. Well, there ya have it. And enjoy the slice of burnt bread.

If you like quality Italian food and go mostly for delivery service, this is the place to go! Love their apps, especially the calamari fritti! Make sure to order plenty of lemon wedges and marinara sauce with it!!! You can scroll through their online menu easily and place your order online, no problem!!

Unexpectedly delicious! We're staying in the Residence Inn, this place was highly recommended by hotel-staff. We tried the Family Good Meal, at $28.99 and added desserts. Our total was very responsible, as was the delivery fee. Our delivery guy, was just as friendly and helpful as can be. The food? Delicious, filling, fresh, flavorful and was even properly packaged...to avoid temp. issues. Great experience! !

If you've had a long drinking night in the heart of North Park, this place can at least bring you back amongst the living. However, if you're looking for great tasting, authentic Italian cuisine... Keep walking. I've eaten in-house and it was fine for a quick slice but when ordered out, I definitely lived to regret it. The fried ravioli had no coating and was cold, the chicken Alfredo had bits of breaded chicken mixed in with over cooked spaghetti, with no sauce. When I contacted the restaurant, they didn't attempt to remake the order, or offer a refund. I have pictures showing the poor quality of the food. I'm not a complainer, if I don't like what you serve I simply don't return but this was a special occurrence. I gave them one star for attempting to cook the food at all.

I've been going here for years for one item and that is the Cheesy Bread! It is my all time favorite and is always served fresh and hot and it never disappoints. I've tried other items like the spaghetti, and the antipasti salad and both were delicious but that cheesy bread, I never had anything like it. Yum!! I feel so sad that this place doesn't have that great of reviews but I must say I've always had great service. I don't know, maybe because I've been under the influence of alcohol and didn't really care but even still, when I'd come in sober, service would be great. People just need to chill and get the cheezy bread. That's all I'm sayin! Enjoy!!

Delivery took about 45 minutes which is not that bad, they lost a star for the pizza because it was just Bad! It seemed more like a frozen pizza. The spaghetti was ok but the entire bottom was just watery. the two salads were ok. Overall not horrible but I wouldn't order from them again, specially not the PIZZA

This place is very odd. Came here for pizza and I ordered a margarita from the rudest lady ever. She acted like I knew nothing about pizza, well trust me I know a margarita and the slice of pizza I got was NOT a margarita. You can see my picture and it was just the weirdest thing. I had yellow tomatoes that were hard and disgusting I had to pick off. The only reason I was eating was because we were a little tipsy and needed some food in the system. But boy this was disgusting pizza and the two lady's stood at the counter and were talking just talking crap about people. It was WEIRD. never coming back

  • Julian V.

Let me start by saying fuck this place. I just ate lunch here with my fiancé and I'm already glued to my toilet. The service was horrible and the lady got super put out about serving garlic bread with the lunch even the the lunch specials clearly say that it comes with garlic bread. I mentioned how last time I ate here the same exact thing came with bread an again the menu says it comes with the bread. Either way, the salad dressing tasted a little questionable so I asked Lauren if she thought that they jacked off in it. She said no way, the lady sucks but they wouldn't mess with your food. She then said that we would see how we feel after our food digests and sure enough, here we are half an hour later, she's at work peeing out of her butt and I don't want get back on my bike for a living fear that I may crap my pants. Unless you want kids butt and to feel violated I would suggest going somewhere else. This place sucks!

This is a great little Italian spot. We wandered by on a warm day and sat on the patio for a late lunch. The pesto pizza with sun dried tomatoes was spectacular and flavorful. My wife and I shared an anti pasta salad with Italian dressing and I must say it's been on of my favorite salads in a long time. I read the previous reviews about the staff not being friendly. We had the opposite experience. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. This is obviously not fine dining but for what they offer they do a very nice job. I would certainly recommend this little spot if you are in the area. We will stop in the next time we are in town.

Love this place! I've only had delivery, so I can't comment on the restaurant or staff but the food is great. Subs, garlic bread, pasta, lasagna, cheese bread, salad, I've tried a lot of items here. They never forget anything, every item is carefully prepared. I like it enough that I order here almost every week.

When I wasn't completely satisfied with my pizza, Michael contacted me personally to apologize and send me another order. The second pizza was much better and he even sent me dessert! It's good to know Florencia's cares about its customers and food quality.

I have gotten takeout pizza several times and it is consistently good, and in light of the prices, I highly recommend it. If you call head it is usually less than 15 minutes before it is ready. Also, super friendly staff. Avoid the chains and get a much better pizza for about the same price.

I'm on vacation and the hotel has this place on the menu. I figured it would atleast be decent. The pizza was ok. It took over an hour to deliver the pizza which wouldn't have been a big deal if they had atleast mentioned that they were busy. We payed over the phone and they called back to say our card declined! Wrong ! They took the number wrong so maybe paying a little more attention might help. Probably will never order from here again.

I ordered food at 6:45 this evening. It is now 10:40 pm and my food still hasn't come. Luckily I had ordered through GrubHub, and after 3 calls to check the status of the order, they issued a complete refund for my meal and canceled it. I'm grateful that GrubHub took care of me, but the refund doesn't help my empty stomach. I highly advise you to not bother with this establishment unless you aren't actually hungry and don't expect to eat within almost 4 hours of placing an order!

One star ONLY BECAUSE ITS REQUIRED. They FARMED out our oreder to a pizzeria that DOESN'T MAKE SICILIAN PIZZA..... and then never told that pizzeria the true order. The delivery guy arrived, had 2 14 inch pies, unknown toppings... NOT SICILIAN / deep dish. Sorry, I may be a tourist, but not a moron... sent him packing. Called Florencia (not knowing it was jobbed out)... totally rude female, refused to acknowledge that the online coupon she originally agreed to (2 - 14 inch deep dish 3 topping pies, found on eat24.com , where they ADVERTISE. ... Got to the bottom, called Little Italy pizzeria 4085 Pac Hwy.... spoke to Darleen.... they job out for Florencia all the time, get screwed when wrong order called in.... I then ordered 2 regular 3 topping pies for 22$. We'll see how that works. NEVER ORDER FROM FLORENCIA PIZZA!!

typical after hours SD food spots would be Mexican or Mexican but if you're in North Park you gotta change it up and come here! AMBIANCE: typical looking ma and pop restaurant - not too big or small. We had a party of 10 and were able to fit easily... given it was 1:30am. haha Dim lighting but super casual - you can order to go and there is a soda fountain you can help yourself to. FOOD/DRINK: you NEED to order the CHEESY BREAD. the bread takes a little while to come out since its made to order but so worth the wait. its a row of bread, probably a small baguette length, cut in half. not sure what they do with it since it seems like typical cheesy bread but its so darn good. the last time i went my BF and i shared the SEAFOOD PASTA with red sauce. Came with lots of yummy crustaceans - scalops, shrimp, muscles, and clams. The red sauce wasnt very red, more like a tomato/fredo sauce (still yummy but def not what you expect for a red tomato sauce) and linguini noodles - i wish it came with thinner noodles, but that's just my preference :) My friends had the PASTRAMI sandwich and they said it was tasty (also huge)! My brother had the GREEK SALAD and it was a huge portion for him and his GF to share. PRICE: fair price for the serving SERVICE: i've only been here late at night and we have to order at the counter in the back and they bring it to you when its made. The cashier is super nice and patient, especially with loud drunken folks coming in. PARKING: street parking only, but no need to worry about parking if you're coming from the bars!

Pros: open late, late-night delivery, food is good, price is decent, big portion. Cons: delivery takes forever longer than estimated. The estimated delivery time was about 30-60 minutes. Took 90 minutes to receive food. I live about 5 mins driving down University Ave. Give it 30 minutes for food preparation, give it 15 mins driving with lights, and even another 15 minutes driving with lots of pedestrians walking, add up to an hour, still shouldn't take 90 minutes. I grew up in North Park, San Diego. Never did I take more than 20 minutes driving down University Ave for several blocks. Timing aside, still convenient to have somewhere that both open late and deliver.

Recently stayed in San Diego, and we arrived late and hungry. The hotel gave us a few delivery menus, and we picked Florencia's. I'm glad we did. Good sandwiches and pizza. a few nights later, we ordered from them again. Very fast delivery...it was about 35 minutes on a Friday night of a holiday weekend. Then on Sunday night it was even faster. A lot of variety on the menu. The only negative were that the salads were a lot of lettuce and short on everything else...kinda bland. But I still give them 5 stars for speed and great pizza. Also, the delivery fee is only ONE DOLLAR, and that definitely helped. I compared that to one of the other menus that the hotel gave us, for Vale's Urban Eatery. Vale's menu says that their "prices change without notice" and that the delivery fee "will fluctuate" and even cost more during "special events and holidays" It was a holiday weekend, and I didn't want to pay a Mystery Delivery Fee, so I'm glad we spent $1 with Florencia's.

God damn it. When will you learn your lesson, Sonia! Delivery here is worthless unless you literally want to be woken up by your delivery guy in the middle of the night. And this shit is small and not that good. However, props to them this time, for my order was correct. No good deed unnoticed, Florencia.

Meh, this place is ok. If I have a craving for some late night Italian, I normally go here. I tend to always order the seafood pasta with linguine and white sauce and it is always really delicious. What I find slightly annoying that that their online menu pricing is different from their menu pricing. It is cheaper online but they will not honor it. I was even on the phone with the restaurant and they looked up what I was looking at and still refused. Bummer. The other bummer is that there is normally never anyone in there. Occassionally you may see 1 - 2 tables seated in there, so I could see it going out of business in the near future. Albeit their pricing is a bit expensive, especially for late nite dining (3am?), however, they do deliver, which is always nice and their food is not so bad, either. Not my favorite, but it is not bad at all.

A friend gave me a $10 gift certificate toward any purchase at Florencia's,a Pizza Place in North Park.I decided to order a pepperoni pizza one night and used the gift cert. towards the total purchase price. I had to provide them with my Credit Card for the amount over the gift cert. as well as any tax. The driver came in a timely manner and I gave him my C/card to cover the difference in price plus tax. The pizza was great, much better than the 'big box' places such as Papa Johns & Pizza Hut However, later, when I rcvd. my Credit card statement, I realized they had charged me the full amount, without discounting the $10 for the Gift Cert. I called and spoke with a gentleman named Sam .He was friendly and quite helpful. He offered to provide me with a $10 refund toward my Credit Card without any hassle whatsoever. He asked me to fax him a copy of my credit card statement showing that I had been charged the full price without the gift cert discount. More than the good pizza,I was more impressed with the honesty and helpfulness of Florencia's staff, especially Sam. I highly recommend them.

So happy I found this great delivery place! The pizza has been fantastic. Perfect crust, toppings, and cheese. Eggplant parmigiana sandwich was equally amazing. No complaints here. Tastes great with enough for leftovers. Wait for it, OMG, the meat lasagna. Heaven. Loved it. Try it. Now. And how can it get better? I can order online using an app! Done. Sold.

Pizza was delicious! But we ordered calamari it was over cooked (chewy) when we asked to get another batch of calamari. The said that is the way we cook our calamari here. Soooo don't order the calamari.

Florencia's SD: North Park 1:30am Friday 13th December 2013 Three Stars maybe one more LATE NIGHT! After a night of much drinking and holiday hoopla, we wandered into Florencia's on 30th street. We ordered some $2ish slices of one topping pizza ($0.50 for additional toppings). I enjoyed a tomato and a mushroom. They made them fresh instead of just reheating previously cooked slices. The slices were good. The crust is a little thicker than usual but not as thick as Chicago style. The toppings were kind of sloppily cut. Overall, I enjoyed the slices, but it wouldn't my first choice for late night pizza.

Well we just waited over a hour a half for a large pizza to be delivered. We seriously thought they were going to forget about us. We even called them and the guy said the person would be here in a couple minutes and he didn't show up until about 20 mins after that convo. We were about ready to go to bed when the guy showed up. Of course our pizza was warm but it was good. Oh well.

Ordered pizza from a local motel and the price was not current and I was told it was a dollar more $17.10 inc. tax I waited an hour and the delivery driver arrived. Pizza was a B, plenty of toppings, and I gave $5 tip to the driver but didn't 'x' out the blank space for tip or total on the receipt. They advertised no delivery charge, so imagine my surprise when an extra two dollars padded into the bill, either by this greedy delivery driver or a greedy cashier or mgr. I wrote a letter to the owner to notify & ask for credit for the two dollars, get somebody fired, and possibly file with the PD for petty theft/fraud. I'm sure it isn't the first or last time with this(these?) crook(s)! Now THAT leaves a bad taste in my mouth!

I placed an order thru grub hub and made a note for them to call me when they get to my building. I called grub hub after 2 1/2 hours and asked to cancel my order. They called the restaurant and they were told that the food was delivered and a guy took it. I never received a call and they must have given the food to a random guy outside. Waiting for my refund . Won't get from here again

BIG, delicious portions!! The garlic toast is amazing - thick, buttery, dense, and has that nice slight crunch when you bite into it! My daughter had the Fettucine Alfredo with shrimp - very tasty, just the right amount of sauce. My cousin had the Penne Spicy Antonio with chicken, although it was not really spicy at all, it was tasty and very good. I had the Philly Cheese Steak sandwich - cut into two huge halves, this sandwich had a nice sesame seed bun that was light, and it was loaded with nice thin slices of meat with cheese and peppers. It was awesome. The pasta dishes also came with a good size plate of salad with creamy italian dressing. Great food, service, and prices are not bad for the quality! YUM!

Ordered my food over 2 hours ago and then got s call saying it went to the wrong address. Called the manager to get reimbursed since by this time I am ready for bed and was told that it was MY fault they went to the wrong address and that they would not reimburse me at all and continued to argue with me.. What happened to the customer is always right? Never authorized the transaction with a signature etc and had to call my bank to file a claim to get reimbursed ... HORRIBLE service.

The pizza is ok.. BUT the service sucks! I was visiting San Diego and after a long day I decided to say in my hotel and relax and just order in.. Well an hour and 15 minutes my pizza shows up. Ok well pizza was pretty good and the wings were alright mozzarella sticks were cold but I let it slide. Day two the same thing ordered in and pizza was an hour and a half late. Wait correction an hour and 15min again! I was corrected by a rude guy that I have only been waiting for an hour and 15minutes! Rude! Unprofessional! He made excuse after excuse and then said "what do you want me to do about it!" Rude! If your thinking of ordering here prepare to wait!

Today, was the first and only time I came here. While i was having lunch a young man came in a told the people behind the counter there had been a problem with his order last night. Instead of saying, "I'm sorry," and fixing the problem for a customer, the two women behind the counter argued with him, and accused him of trying to get free food! I thought that was appalling behaviour on their part! The customer is always right, and they should have behaved like it instead of arguing with the guy which just made for a bad feeling between he and the two woman, and also me, who had to listen to the whole argument. The customer is always right, or go out of business, you're not in the right business if you can't see that.

I went to a birthday party for my friend couple days ago and I must say I had the best margarita pizza ever. Let me tell you this we went to a bar and then I came back at 2 30am and ate two more slices. I recommend this place to every pizza lover! I will come back!

Food is fine, nothing fancy but tasty enough. I'm giving a low review because I ordered this food for delivery while staying at the Residence Inn on Pacific Highway in downtown San Diego ... And it ended up taking longer (about 30minutes longer than told to expect) and being more expensive than the menu price that was listed on the menu in the hotel (ie, they charged me more than the menu price). The driver that delivered the food was really nice and acknowledged that it was more expensive than it should be and called his manager/person back at the restaurant... But that person just was not sympathetic and told me I just have their wrong menu. That person had a 'deal with it' attitude. Overall, food was fine but a bit of a pain dealing with the whole situation. I wouldn't recommend them if you have another option.

Bleh.. is really all I have to say. Cheap prices, and cheap interior. The diner-like seating was ripping at the pleather and the tables were sticky and dirty. The food was pretty good considering the price, and the side salad that came with pasta was good too. Wouldn't come back, but it's worth a try.

Extremely Happy with the service here. Been here several times! Idk what everyone else is talking about. They are open late night past two & the pizza is phenomenal! Usually I will bring a girl with me here after the bars close & these guys are life savers because they are always open for me and my hungry lady! I recommend their pesto cheesy breadsticks and most of everything else we tried! Thanks for the great experiences guys!!!

Delivery I can't say what the restaurant is like this is a review on the food itself and the delivery. Time, It took about 45 mins to have the Pizza and Apps delivered. 15 mins less then quoted. Delivered the delivery person was nice but seemed to have multiple deliveries which may have accounted for the tempter of the food. Temperature, The food was warm not hot. The Cheese on the pizza didn't have the consistency of hot melted cheese but more as if it sat out and started to solidify. The Apps; Mozzarella Sticks and Jalapeño poppers were the same way. They were not hot or gewy but instead had already solidified and were just above room temperature. Quality, The Pizza crust was thin and crispy as ordered the toppings were not evenly distributed and they were scarce. Scare being the theme of the night when it comes to this pizza as there was almost no cheese, sauce or toppings. The taste of what was on the pizza was good and had there been a proportioned amount and served hot it probably would have been a 4 star review instead of a 2 star.

  • Nick R.

Good amount of food for the price. The quality is pretty close to what you'd had left over in your fridge after a real nice dinner. I'd say if you're staying near or in the Hotel Circle, order and pick up. It's open late enough with enough choices that you won't be super disappointed, just pick up and don't do delivery. Otherwise, you'll be another 1 or 2 star review. The people who have ordered food and picked it up seem to have little to complain about, and I'm with them. Enough food to feed 3 of us, was $25. and was ready in 25 minutes. And they were super nice? That's all I needed while in town visiting.

  • Gwendolen R.

Definitely was really good food for the price!! The driver got confused on the address at first and took a little extra time, but he was prompt and the food was still hot even though he got lost was awesome!! The Philly Cheesteak and the Chicken Fingers were great, even have me an extra chicken finger, the fries also a great addition to the meals. The cheese sticks thoughh yum!!! They were cooked perfectly and again even though he got lost which was completely understandable my place is a weird one to find they were still hot and fresh tasting as if they had just come out of the oven. Definately a great late night delivery place especially for the price! Needless to say I Will definitely be hitting them up again(:

Came here after a night of drinking...and damn I wasn't the only one. I usually go to URBN to get my pizza fix, but they were closed. And this place was my plan B. For $2.50/slice, I thought that was a good deal. That price is good for any red sauce pizza with one topping (cheese already included). I ordered one pepperoni and one Italian sausage pizza. Both were delicious and had a strong, meaty taste. The restaurant itself looks like a fast food joint trying to look fancy. The tables look a little worm down (my table was wobbly), but the artwork was fancy. I even saw a tiny cockroach. But honestly, I didn't care. I'll definitely come back here next time I'm drunk and want cheap pizza (and URBN is closed).

Had a horrible experience at this place! We called multiple times and got hung up on multiple times because it was busy. We called for a late night pizza and it arrived after TWO hours but that's not even the worst part. My gf ordered a pizza and I had a pasta and she started to feel sick in the middle of the night.(food poising) She started vomiting all night and got very sick. I took one bite of the pizza and I RARELY pass up pizza but It was not good and I'm very glad I didn't eat it. All in all worst experience at a pizza place I've ever had.

So we ordered this from our hotel room. The front desk recommended them so we decided to give them a try. Our order took 45-50 min to get to the room. We were growing a little impatient so we decided to call in just to check up on it. Whoever we spoke seemed a little impatient and gave us the feeling that we were wasting her time. When the ordered finally arrived, the delivery guy realized that he didnt have our entire order. So he went back to get it for us. We waited for about another 30 min before we decided that it wasn't even worth it. So we decided to call back to cancel our order and got the wonderful pleasure of speaking to the same girl we spoke to earlier (who, we could tell, cared so much about what we had to say *sarcasm*). As far as the food. The pizza was cold and really salty. Not worth it. Dont eat here

Just DON'T do it. Inexperienced staff, slow service and the unique sauce is unique for a reason. Not good. There are too many great Italian restaurant within walking distance. Just keep walking.

Just moved to the neighborhood and had read the review about the lasagne so went to try it. Unfortunately it tasted old and was cold in the middle. Also had the salad and the thousand island dressing tasted off. The waitress was nice and I was in a hurray and so didn't feel like complaining about the food. Overall the place just seemed to have low quality food and I felt my complaint wasn't gonna have any effect and I suppose to get what you pay for at only $10 for dinner.

Mediocre food. Friendly staff. Bad advertising. If u say ur open till 2a.m. & I walk in at 1:05, I'd think cud dine-in just to eat 1 sandwich. Nope. Takeout only. "but yelp AND ur sign says open till 2a.m.?" "oh yea, well takeout only." (wondering to self, u don't close for an hour, wtf?? I'm alone on a weeknight and drove ALLLLLL the way over here - & can't eat cuz u suck at clarity?? Just lost a once loyal customer :( & his friends who frequented here regularly... You can never go wrong with Florencia's. Pizzas' are very good with a wide range of choices. The highly adictive Cheesey Bread Sticks are a must as well. They deliver alcohol too up till 2am.

I ordered food from this restaurant for my son graduation about 6 months ago and everybody complemented me. We served chicken marsala, which comes with bread and salad. The price is great and the amounts of food ware very generous. I never wrote a review, but as we were walking on Halloween night we just happen to run in to this restaurant again and we stopped for a glass of wine and some appetizer.... That was a great idea, service was great! Food was delicious and all for a very good price. GREAT PLACE TO EAT! You will like it!

I was contacted by the owner through Yelp after he read my review, and he helped to rectify my not-so-great experience with Florencia's. I had a pizza 2 liter and chicken strips delivered today, and the owner made it worth my while. The quality was excellent and this time, so was the overall experience. It's good to know that they care about repeat business and customer service.

Terrific family run mainstay of North Park, the chef (probably the owner himself) once made individual raviolis for my girlfriend because she is allergic to cheese, and it was still just the cheap price of the lunch special, I'd like to see one of these poser Italian places that are popping up around here do that. My frequent lunch special of spinach lasagna is always delicious and hotter than molten lava, my only complaint here is that the awesome green salad that used to come with the lunch special is only available separately now for like 3 dollars. The pizza is totally underrated by a lot of these reviewers, possibly due to late night ordering when just a back up crew is on duty perhaps, but the barbeque chicken pizza is the best around.

I've been to this place twice, at normal hours too, and it's been empty both times. Despite the lack of patrons, the service has been slow and painful and leaves much to be desired. The pizza is okay... but doesn't match up to the other options nearby (coughBronxcough). The two stars are for: 1) Open super late (but again, at 2 am pizza run do you really want to be spending 15 dollars + tax + tip for a pizza?) 2) For the fact that you can order a 14" meat feast to put in your mouth (for you ladies out there!)

I came here to eat the other night with my bandmate, Larah M. Originally, we had intended to eat at Marie's Cafe, but it was already 11pm and Marie's turned out to be closed for the night. Luckily, Florencia's was nearby and still open. I ordered the ravioli with meat sauce and Larah had the veal parmigiana. I think both were around 12 or 13 dollars, and they came with a choice of soup or salad. I chose the soup, which turned out to be a nice minestrone that was neither bland nor too salty. My ravioli was great and I thought Larah's veal parmigiana was also delicious. In general, the food here appears to be very rich and heavy on the cheese. I'm not sure if that's consistent with authentic Italian cuisine, but lactose intolerant folks will definitely want to have some lactaid tablets handy when they eat here. Overall, I thought this was a simple and classy restaurant. The food was good and the prices were on par with other Italian restaurants. The service was prompt and polite but never officious. I also appreciated that I didn't have to shout over televisions or music in order to carry on a conversation there. Florencia's is family owned and operated (which is probably how they manage to stay open till 2am every night) so that makes it even cooler. I'm a fan.

I didn't get a freebie for writing this review and I am not related to anyone here. Florencia's delivers to the hotel where I work and I get food when I have time to enjoy it. I have never had a bad experience with my order. Yes, sometimes it does take a little longer than what is anticipated. But, that is the nature of ordering food for delivery. @#$% happens. I have yet to go to the dine-in location for a sit down meal, but, I am sure that it would be of the same quality I get for delivery. I read alot of reviews here both positive and negative. The negative reviews state something that is unheard of these days, someone who is willing to go out of his way to make things right. So, I recommend that you read reviews and take a chance.

We had this delivered to our hotel and it was decent for delivery food. I wouldn't say it was wonderful or even good. Just basic. Delivery took 70 minutes. We had the garlic bread with cheese. It is like a sourdough bread with cheese. Would have been much better if it had been fresh and hot. We also ordered the Pizza Blanca which was good but again would have been better if it had been hot. The chicken piccata was bland and didn't seem fresh. The Chocolate mousse cake was frozen, yik! the cannolies were, eh. Wouldn't order again but I didn't end up hungry at the end of the night. BTW, the side salad is lettuce only and a small side of dressing.

Perhaps we caught this place on a bad night. It was a late into the evening and we were in North Park. Most of the good eateries in the North Park are closed by 10pm, so we decided to give this place a try. I'm a pretty easy person to please when it comes to late night food selection. However, I was a bit disappointed. The service was "ehh," but I can let that slide. For all I know the poor girl probably worked a long shift. We ordered the lasagna, which was average. Then we ordered a pizza, which was quite disappointing. It seemed like the toppings were added as an afterthought. Perhaps I've been spoiled by the other establishments in the area that serve some really good Italian cuisine and the service always exceeds expectations. I may give this place another chance in the future, but I'll definitely check the other reviews before returning.

As much as it pains me, I'm really sorry, Florencia's. It's a shame, because their customer service - on the phone, for delivery and in the restaurant, is excellent. Very friendly, helpful and kind. While their food has been decent-to-good in the several times that I've had their food since my first review - the most recent time was the killer for me. I ordered Penne with Vodka sauce. What I received was not vodka sauce. I've never in 35 years on this planet, had vodka sauce that wasn't pink. This was some sort of cream sauce with veggies. It wasn't what I wanted, but I went with it. I mean, we ordered delivery and it would have been a pain to send it back and get what I'd actually ordered, etc. Besides, it wasn't horrible. UNTIL the middle of the night when I was violently ill for 4 hours. I ended up having food poisoning and was in misery for about 3 days. My friend still loves you, Florencia's, but I will no longer be joining in on ordering.

I was introduced to Florencias from a good college friend who happens to be a native San Digean, and she took me here when I had my first drunken night in SD ( this was 4 years ago) - Since then, I've been here a few times during those drunk nights :) I've never eaten here when I was sober, haha! The food is ok, the prices are out of this world! (pricey for what it is) The one thing I like on their menu is the pesto bread stick, wow! So yummy, and everything else I can probably make at home. The staff gets the job done: fast and quick. They also deliver and stay open till 3 AM!

I really like the pizza here, but this place is so hit or miss. Tonight I stopped in and had a seat outside. The waiter came out quickly and I asked him what kind of beer that had and he goes " it's on the first page" and walked back in. Came out a few minutes later and i ordered a pizza Florence and a glass of water. Took him 10 minutes to being me the water at which time he stated my pizza would be out in a minute. About 2 minutes later he comes back out and asked what i ordered! A few minutes after that he brings me an order of garlic bread and says "heres some bread while you wait." Finally, about 10 minutes later he brings me the pizza, Which was the only saving grace to this visit because it was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. Oh yeah, I forgot to add, there were NO OTHER CUSTOMERS at this time. And he never brought me any more water. By far my worse experience at this establishment as far as service goes. I've been here many times before and always had great service by a different waiter. This guy was horrible. This visit gets An overall three stars. One for service, five for food, which is outstanding every time Ive been here.

It's a Tuesday night we ordered a cheese pizza at 5. We were told 45-an hour, which is ridiculous to begin with. At the about an hour mark we call to make sure the pizza is on the way they say its on the way. 1/2 hour later they are still not here. We called to cancel because we had some where to be at 6. All we wanted was a simple cheese pizza unfortunately we didn't get that.

My order took literally 100 minutes to get delivered and my food tasted like it had been sitting for longer than that. Also my request for a side of ranch for my mozzarella sticks somehow turned into two big sides of marinara. I can tell that even if the jalapeno poppers or mozzarella sticks were fresh the deep fried batter part would be pretty gross. Would not recommend.

We eat here once in a while. There's this one waitress who's great, but I think she only works during the day. There's this waiter who's nice, but each time he's waited on us, one of the orders comes out wrong. But after tonight, I don't think it's him, it's the cooks. We really like their Chicken Picatta, but each time one of us has ordered it, it comes out different. Tonight, it was made with breaded chicken, like parmesan, and had a creamy sauce. Other times, it's just been with lemon, pinot gregio, capers, and sauteed chicken. Errors aside, it always tastes great! They have the best house dressing! Garlic basil, Italian seasoning vinaigrette. We make them bring the toasty garlic bread out early so we can dunk it in the dressing. We also ordered the Pizza Margharita. Basil, sliced tomatoes, garlic (lots), and mozzarella. It's a very delicious combination. Everything was really good tonight. The service was amazing. I think our waiter use to be a busboy there and was promoted. He kept asking us if there was anything else he could get or do. I told my partner, "I bet it was because you were such an ass last time, they remembered you and your picture is in the back." I like the lasagna and ravioli, and the chicken and veal parmasan is decent. My other favorite dish is the chicken marsala. I love the sauce! This is a no frills Italian restaurant. A place you can come to eat, relax, and chill. One of the times we were here, these three non-Nparkers had come in to eat. They were going to some show at the NP Theater. From their demeanor and attitude, they thought they were important. I hate people like this. They were so demanding to the waitress. I wanted to say, "Hey, shut the hell up, you're in North Park." And no, I didn't go to Yog Art. I think four times in a row would be a bit much. Plus, the owners would probably think I'm either a freak or a hog.

Placed an order for delivery at 1:02 pm. Was told it would take 45 minutes to an hour for delivery. 2:29 pm still had not received, called again to get the story. Response was "the driver is in the lobby, he'll be there in 2 minutes". 2:43 pm, still waiting... must be crawling from the lobby. They sure went ahead and ran my credit card though. 2:45 pm, pizza is FINALLY here. It's soggy, warm and not very good.

So when my friends asked why I'm getting so fat, I told them I was participating in a Weight Loss challenge for a cash prize, and had to gain as much weight in a short time as I could. The truth is that Florencia's makes these breadsticks. They're filled with this disgusting alfredo sauce and vile-tasting cheese, and they come with some week-old marinara sauce. That actually wasn't the whole truth either, but I have to describe them like that or else I might get hungry in the process and leave work early to eat an order of them. It's right in the heart of Northpark, but you rarely see diners there. Sure, they probably do good carryout business (and possibly good dining business when the bars close). But the place has a very generic, tacky look. Think 'cheaper alternative to Olive Garden but with the Pizza Hut Italian music CD playing'. It's a local joint and everything is made right there. All they'd need is for someone to redo their storefront and interior to make it a little more hip, and they'd be an institution there.

Updating because I love their pasta and garlic bread. The prices are reasonable and the service is consistently good (at least for me). Try the Pasta Arribiata with the house Chianti. Very nice pairing and I think they upgraded their chianti, this one tastes a lot better. Okay partay peeps bear and bare with me on this one...So I read the numerous Question Mark Head's reviews... other fine Yelpers with heads input the kavetching and the complaining fell on my ears. Then Sir Ruggerford doth posteth his review which was four stars and I was inspired... Frank the Silent Tank and I walked in near sweaty butt silence up to Magalige's (owner of Santos) Gallery opening.. it was packed with very important hot ladies with awesome hair and tattoos... I got hungry but not before being wapped in the head by a lovely lady "hawt" with a converse tennis shoe.. I think that one will make some kind of paper or something... but I digress We went to Florencias and I told the Tank.. .Hey we have lived here for over 20 years... and we have NEVER ventured in.. .Let's go.. So being the picky snobbish eaters.. welllllll in my case here is the lowdown: 1) outdoors is nicer than indoors on HOT days like today. The inside felt like my cotton panties after playing three hours of soccer or running 9 miles down at Mission Bay 2) The PASTA and the house salad with dressing IS TOOOO DIE.. don't waste your time on the pizza, the sandwiches OR the appetizers. This places speciality is their PASTA sports fans.. Keep that in mind.. order pizza from Lefty's or Luigis OR That Scilian Place... or Mazzara's. Florencias has the pasta down pat. Mazzara's NO on the pasta and sauce dishes.. this place is better. 3) Pasta Albiatto or whatever it is called... Maranara made with tomato's, olive oil, garlic, basil and Pino Griggio.. I could taste the wine in the sauce!! DELISH. 4) The wine: IT SUCKED... The chianti DID not nor did the service! Excellent service and the worst Sangiovese I have ever had that they did NOT charge me for... but the chianti with your pasta = worth it. So KNOW what you want... make smart decisions based on what is in the area, use your brain and go to places that make kick ass pizza, this place has the pasta deal ALL wired!

If you're picking up, CHECK YOUR ORDER. Florencias LOVES to fuck up orders. It really is their forte. Been going here for years and I've lost count of how many times they've fucked up. The owner is SUPER Nice about it when he deals with it, everyone else acts put off like its your falt that they didn't give you anything at all what you ordered. Why do I still come here? I for some idiotic reason give the benefit of the doubt sometimes after months/years of boycotting. Constantly being reminded I was right in the first place. This will probably be the last time. 2 stars cuz when you for some bizarre reason actually get what you ordered, the food is pretty good. You gotta be up their ass to make sure theyre doing it right though. Good luck with that. Just never, ever under any circumstances leave without checking to make sure they got it right.

Middle of the road Italian with a really nice crew. Lunch is kind of bare and not enough people working. Food was good, but about average. Good portions and great prices on lunch specials. Kind of slow with being not too busy. Gonna give them another try.

This place was pretty terrible when I first started going there 8 years ago. The pizza was fine, but the rest of the menu left a lot to be desired. Since then, the quality and the presentation has improved dramatically, I dunno if they have all new staff or management or what, but now it's really a nice place for moderately priced Italian food and thin crust pizza. My advice as a regular customer: If you're ordering a lot of toppings, especially the veggie pizza, ask for it well done so the crust stays relatively firm when eating it. Otherwise, you will need the knife and fork. Oh, and make sure you have a coupon from your weekly junk mail or takeout menu when you're ordering, or they can be fairly expensive. Take advantage of their specials and you will find them to be a great value and worth the wait.

One of the best hidden treasures in San Diego. Every thing is homemade! The best Marinara sauce you will ever try. Everything made to order and the staff is so friendly and sweet. The place is open till 2 am daily, and even delivers till then. Pizza is to die for, my favorite is Pizza Blanca and I usually like the thin crust. Please go and try this place, support local businesses:) Ciao and bon appétit!!!

This place is great! Not sure what all the bad hype is about but it is great! It is a bit expensive but if you buy one of the gift certificates from restaurants.com it makes the bill very reasonable. Will always go back to this place for some good Italian eating!

We were on the way to see the San Diego Gay Men's Chorus perform at the North Park Theater and decided to grab a bite to eat before the show. We were both craving some Italian Style comfort food and wanted to try this restaurant for a long time. The place was completely empty when we arrived.. The owner and the server were so incredibly helpful... We received A+ service and we catered on hand and foot. I ordered the Chicken Marsala. It was served on a bed of Angel Hair Pasta. The sauce was on the creamy side and not too overwhelming with the flavor of Marsala wine... which I like alot of normally... but it balanced well. My partner ordered Baked Lasagne. It was HUGE!! with a rich tomato-y meat sauce, lots of Ricotta and Mozzerella on top. We shared an order of Cheesy Garlic Bread as an hors.... and as you can imagine, it was a big hit also... After reading all of the less favorable reviews of the club kids, boozers and delivery peeps who had neg experiences... GO here when you are not out at the club, getting krunk, or staying home with the munchies... ugg-hmm... Give it another chance if you haven't been there in a while, as I think they are getting "it"......

Well, it wasn't bad. But it wasn't good. The guy who was working with me was very nice. I left a large tip for the chef (I was doing carry out) even heard the dude say make it good she left ya one! Anyhow. I don't really like spaghetti, it's messy. So I wanted penne pasta instead. "Sure!" he says. Got home, not Penne. So sad. For take out Italian it was pretty good, but I didn't really realize how much grease there was till I saw it sitting at the bottom of the pan . . .. so will I go again? Maybe if I don't have time to cook, but I think I make spaghetti just a well. The manocotti was fairly dull too . . .

I'm sad to see that no one reviewing this place mentions the fact that everything that can be is HOMEMADE. Ravioli and other pastas, homemade! The mouth-watering olive oil and cheese-sprinkled fantastic bread that comes with dinner, homemade! Minestrone soup, homemade and delicious. The house vinaigrette, homemade and one of the best salad dressings I have ever tasted. The salad itself was strikingly fresh, not a tinge of browning on the romaine, just crispy, fresh salad fixings that alone were flavorful, not commercially bland. The decor is perfectly cheesy but in a way that makes it charming and campy. (I do wish there wasn't a TV, but there are TV's in so many restaurants these days, so that's for a whole other social commentary!) The sauces on our pastas were both tomato-based, not cream, but still were very rich. That took a couple bites to get used to and only meant that we were more than full with more than half of our meals to bring home and enjoy the next day! (More bang for the buck, less effort at home, who's complaining?!) We're eager to go back to try the pizza, and more importantly, the baked Chicken Parmigiana hero/wedge sandwich. If people complained that the food takes a long time (which it didn't at all for us dining in) it's probably because they're making so much from scratch and probably chopping the lettuce as they need it, little things like that which make the quality of the meal taste better.

Try the Sausage Sub and the Chocolate Moose Cake! You will die :) If you are really hungry, throw in some mozzarella cheese bread, OMG. I order this every time. GRADE A.

The reviews on Yelp made it seem so promising but I had a terrible experience. Granted mine was for delivery, so I may give this place another chance for eat in. The person who took my order got my address and telephone wrong so when the driver couldn't find my house he also couldn't call for a correction. When I called to check on my order forty minutes later, she was full of attitude and annoyed with me, but took my correct address and phone number. So after waiting almost an hour for ravioli and garlic bread from a place a couple of blocks away I was irritated and starving. The food was mediocre, the meatballs bland and the garlic bread dry. If you have to eat here, stick to dine in.

Last night I was hungry around 10pm and decided to treat myself to a nicer dinner. I walked up and down the street and all the places I tried were all closing/closed/about to close. I knew I wanted to relax and take my time. I found this quaint place and walked in. It was fairly empty and but saw on the door it was open until 2am. Could it be? I sat outside and was pleasantly surprised with the relaxing music, and festive lights around the tables. The menu was extensive (pizzas, pastas, salads, lasagna, etc. etc.). The waiter, Sammy, was more than attentive and friendly and mentioned they deliver until the wee hours of the morning (maybe 1amish/2am?) so I could take my time. I ordered an eggplant parmesan sandwich which was delicious! The bread was crispy and cooked on the outside a bit panini-style. Although there's nothing overly "fancy" about the food, it's typical delicious Italian fare. They have a broad range of anything from pizza to 2.50/slice (with one topping) to a sit down dinner. The high rating is more based on the really pleasant, relaxing atmosphere. This is a quiet, almost romantic place where you could spend hours. The fact that it is open so late is priceless! A great place to go after a night out as well! Bon appetite! Sunday-Th till 2am Fri/Sat- till 3am Wow! And they deliver!

Florencia's is pretty awesome. The menu is full of solid Italian restaurant staples - I didn't see any items I was completely unfamiliar with - but everything comes out pretty darn good there. My favorite item hands-down is the calzones. You can order a plain cheese calzone and add whatever ingredients you want from a list for $1 each, or you can order the calzone version of all the pizzas they serve. I think there's 15 kinds of pizza. Either way, the calzones are HUGE - as long across as a football and probably 3+ pounds of food. I am completely unable to finish one in a single sitting and I'm a pretty good eater, too. The garlic bread is also amazing. A basket of it is $4 I think. But the best part is they're open way late all week long! Go party around North Park and then walk over to Florencia's.

A thesis: Context is everything. While you can enjoy the loveliness of a fine French feast, or sample a bevy of dry white wines, their appropriateness falls under the category of a nice evening. Sometimes, on a lazy day of enjoying little things, there might be nothing better than the bud-busting taste of the Philly Grill. Similar sentiments hold for Florencia's Pizza at two o'clock on a weekday. Although traditionally distrustful of any place that offers a five dollar lunch special, my comrade at arms enjoined me to accompany him for a meal at the rather unassuming restaurant puckered between the cheeks of two other shops. While more or less listening to the lunch specials, from which I ordered a meat lasagna, attention was on the wine list. If I ordered a glass (a most certain if), the wine would cost more than the meal; a good sign this was not. But the wine! What a magnificent creature this glass was, the server had taken great liberties in pouring to the brim; what more, it was not half bad. Her delivering it was the last I saw of her until the meal arrived; perhaps a bad thing for those who like to be doted upon at restaurants, who seek to be wooed, but perfect for me. The portions of lasagna provided for a lunch special amazed; if this was lunch, what is dinner? Biting in, my mouth warmly received a hearty but slightly sweet tomato sauce. This sauce delighted; slightly heavy and chewy pasta was greatly overcome by its enjoyment. In the end, only about two thirds of the meal was finished. But my skepticism had been once again repelled from a normally rather entrenched space. A perfect lunch. Would I be back for dinner some day? Maybe. Will I be back for lunch? Certainly. Dinner is required to set the sun, this meal held it high. This being the metaphorical evidence for my thesis.

I like Florencias because: 1. They have delivered pizza to U-31 at 1ish in the morning when we were pretty wasted. It was a WIN! 2. They deliver Alcohol to my condo with my order(nothing like having a cold Peroni with my pizza, and granted, proper identification was provided) 3. They have a pretty large menu, and offer special deals for deliveries. Service has been a little slow when I have came in, so I guess thats why I opt for the deliveries.

I think it should be against the law to cook pizza on a wire screen! When I order a pizza and it comes to the table and the wire screen marks are on the bottom, I want to send it back and tell them if I wanted wire screen pizza I'd go to Domino's. NO more wire screens !!! I'll go back because the bread is good and I'll have to try other things. We went today after the parade and the service was fast and VERY friendly. They get an extra star because they allow dogs on the patio.

Friends & I have been going to this place for years and recently have popped in after going out on Saturday nights. They've become progressively worse and last night was an awful experience. Due to the time change they apparently were closing down so we were forced to order our pizza to go. We then proceeded to watch others come in after us and seemed to still get table service. When our "DiGiorno" pizza (and I say that because it tasted like frozen pizza) was FINALLY ready, they couldn't even bring it out to our table. The guys working just waved us over and handed us a box of pizza. We went ahead and sat in the restaurant with everyone else and ate at a table while the workers began stacking tables on chairs around people eating, prepping the place to close. Overall, it was crappy service, attitude, and food. I and my friend will NOT be going back. Sad, this place used to be pretty damn good.

I always love the food here, just make sure when ordering delivery that you order from this location and not the one on Midway cause if you mess up like I did. You will be very disappointed.

I was extremely disappointed in my order. I ordered delivery from eat24hours.com . The order arrived in an hour and the food was still piping hot, however, the french fries where soaking wet. These weren't just soggy, they were literally wet. I picked out the few that were edible and tossed the rest which were a pile of mush. The baked ziti was over done. The menu says it comes with both mozzarella and ricotta, but I didn't notice any mozzarella in the dish. The penne was overcooked and bloated as if it sat in water for quite some time after being boiled. The sauce was bland. I'm not sure why, but as I was eating the ziti I started feeling sick so I stopped about 6 bites into it. I see other reviews of people feeling sick after eating Florencia's so I'm glad I decided to stop. The order came with a side salad. After the first two strikes, I didn't even bother. I'm not sure what the dressing tastes like. To me it looked like something scooped off the top of an algae covered pond. I have never seen a bright green, murky, lumpy Italian dressing before. This was certainly a first for me. Three things ordered in my meal, none of them edible. I will NEVER order from Florencia's again. It was a total waste of money.

No, Florencia's take on Italian food isn't going to make your toes curl or have you yelling out the names of Italian grandmothers in ecstasy..... but it hits all the right spots when you've got the comfort food itch. I've gotten delivery twice and eaten in once. The delivery takes about an hour, our service was unremarkable when we dined in. You can order right online, which is great, and the delivery is free. My credit card apparently didn't go through properly and our delivery guy thought I was paying in cash, but he was incredibly nice and called the restaurant to fix everything. This is my go-to spot when I need garlicky, cheese-laden carbs and am too lazy to get off my fat ass (no, I don't see a correlation, thank you) to go anywhere.

I'm in between 3 stars and 4 stars for Florencia's. I'm a big pizza fan and wanted to pick up a slice on my way home from work. Unfortunately I had no cash and they had a minimum charge if I wanted to use my credit card. I have no problem with that, it just means I have to buy two slices instead of one, NOT the reason I would denote this restaurant. However the slices I got, one cheese and one pepperoni didn't have the WOW factor I was expecting. The crust was still white on the bottom where I expected to see a nice golden brown and the cheese had a sort of generic taste to it. The crust is forgivable; everyone has their bad days, although the cheese is where I have my biggest problem. If I had time to try some of their other menu items, which they seemed to have a bountiful amount of (Most of which sounded great) I would have tried something else. The atmosphere and ambiance of the restaurant was straight out of Italy and I would highly recommend this to be a place to bring a family or group of friends for dinner. (Pizza slices aside)

I have to give this place props. Being an open late establishment that is a great option over Denny's. As a larger late night group, we have always been treated with excellent service. Sure things may come out a little slow and some of the menu items may not be all that wonderful... Sometimes the baked pasta dishes are a bit questionable... But this is an awesome place for that post midnight gathering. Refillable soda, the bread is yummy, and when I can afford it, the chicken picatta is a treat. Florencia's has always been a beloved and accommodating place to me and mine. We're a handful, but it never seems like we are when we raid in late night here.

ok, this place really only gets 4 stars for me because they deliver to my house(and late night, too)! why is this so rare in sd? i miss the options in chicago. still, their food is pretty decent. the only thing i'm not really a fan of is their pizza. their calzones are huge, though, and pretty good too! i tend to stick to their chicken parm and various other pasta dishes. haven't had a bad one yet. i dig that they use sourdough for their garlic bread. they also make a good minestrone. this is pretty much my go to place for delivery. no charge, great hours, and reasonable deals.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
